Would Sensei's Divining Top count as a card draw card? Or is it just card advantage?

Also, either Skyscribing should move to Group Hug, or Prosperity should be put in here.

I moved Skyscribing to Group Hug.

Sensei's Divining Top is fine as a filter card, but I hesitate to include it in a draw list. I suppose you can make a case for it, though.

Would Forced Fruition qualify for this list?

@LiquidKid: No. Group hug effects are covered in the group hug list.

@alexsmith21: I'd rather not include cards like Shadowmage Infiltrator because they're generally bad in EDH. Some of the other cards are alright, though.

It's not a group hug when you got Spiteful Visions , Zur's Weirding or Underworld Dreams on the field though =P

I like this list, but what sort of prerequisites do you have for inclusion on it?

For example Pulse of the Grid , Think Twice , Steam Augury , Underworld Connections , Brainstorm , Bident of Thassa are popular with my regular group. I have toyed with Inheritance , Diviner's Wand , and Puresteel Paladin but they are more situational. What about older stuff like Jayemdae Tome or Urza's Blueprints ?

Read the Bones is missing? less black intensive than Sign in Blood with the addition of scry 2 for 1 cmc more?

Braingeyser

Impulse

What about cantrips like Ponder , Brainstorm , Ancestral Vision (not really a cantrip), and Gitaxian Probe ?

January 15, 2014 4:01 p.m.

@nobu_the_bard: I want the inclusions to be effective and efficient. Think Twice is a bad draw card because it's just a cantrip. Inheritance is also bad because it's expensive an conditional. There's no defined list of criteria; it's more of a combination between my instinct and my familiarity with the format that guides my discretion.

@gufymike: I don't like the cantrips for the reasons stated above.

I'd add Wheel of Fortune / Wheel of Fate / Reforge the Soul

Azami, Lady of Scrolls is somewhat conditional, but very powerful draw in quite a few blue decks..

Think Twice isn't a cantrip, its a draw 2, which you can pay in two installments during your opponents end step.

Well of Lost Dreams + Lifelink (or some other source of Life gain) lets you draw cards at 1 colorless Mana per card.

It is included as a reprint in the Eternal Bargain Commander 2013 deck. Along with an alternate general that gives +2 life at upkeep, even if he's just sitting in the Command Zone.

P.S. What they didn't include is Exquisite Blood to really have it pop off. If you get both of those out at once at a larger table your draw will only be limited by how fast you can ramp up your mana, which should be fairly quick with all the cards coming in if you've got any mana rocks or other ramp to speak of.

They probably didn't include Exquisite Blood in Eternal Bargain not only because they already had plenty of money cards in the deck to have it sell but also serving up the insta-kill combo of Sanguine Bond + Exquisite Blood in a pre-fab deck would be a bit much. ;)

You should include Land Tax even though it only gets basic plains it still is a repeatable draw three cards for 1 mana
