@rathalos3000: I added the ones worth adding a while ago. Not all of those cards are inclusion-worthy.

I dont understand, why not add Ashen Rider , Maelstrom Nexus and Progenitor Mimic

I suppose I could add those cards. Ashen Rider and Progenitor Mimic , at least. Maelstrom Nexus is an interesting and somewhat chaotic card, but I don't know if I'd call it a staple or power card.

I played it in all my 5-color decks and you get a lot of card advantage with it, it is really good.

I'm very new to EDH but I'd like to know if Vanishing would be a staple or why not

Vanishing isn't a staple. I suppose you could consider it a utility card because it functions as "removal" and as a way to save your own creatures, but you could almost always include a better card in its place.

Conflux is a must for every 5-color deck ;)

so, Blue Sun's Zenith in there solely because it's instant speed, and it goes back to the deck, and so its a lot better than Mind Spring but, i think mind spring could be included, right? or would that be in the budget one? or neither? idk, i'm new to edh, but i think that it is still good.

TheHacker53, Blue Sun's Zenith is a power card because if you have infinite mana you can use it to deck out all opponents at the table.

How about Bitter Ordeal ? I Only offer as a suggestion, because what EDH deck doesn't run board wipes?

January 10, 2014 2:13 a.m.

My vote is for Akroma, Angel of Wrath .

I will second Bitter Ordeal . That card in any deck that uses sacrifice effects could be a wincon.

What about Breathstealer's Crypt ? The card can stall out creature-heavy commander decks, and can buy time for you to get what you need to get, as well as causing them to, if you make your opponents draw a lot of cards, either kill off or make hard hard decisions on what to keep...life or necessary creatures.

Boundless Realms is VERY good in EDH in my opinion.

Geist Of SaiNt Traft!!! Also Mistveil Plains And Tutors Are Hard To beat

Given all the taplands, wouldn't Amulet of Vigor be a power card?

Stealing creatures for free makes it sound like Roil Elemental belongs here.

I feel like Karametra (the new Selesnya God) will be extremely useful in EDH.

Oh and Divine Reckoning is super good in a Voltron deck.

@Orcinbob & Bellock86: Bitter Ordeal is mediocre unless it's used as a finisher for an infinite combo. It's sorcery speed, and it's pretty bad as a utility card.

@PhageTheUnbeatable: Akroma, Angel of Wrath is merely a beater. I'm not convinced it belongs on this list.

@DrLitebur: I added Breathstealer's Crypt to the List of EDH Stax/Group Slug Cards, but I don't think it warrants inclusion in a general list of staples and power cards.

@vishnarg: Geist of Saint Traft is bad in EDH except as a general (and even then it's iffy).

@DreamGoddessLindsey: Amulet of Vigor is only viable in certain decks, and it's not a good idea to play so many taplands that Amulet of Vigor would justify its inclusion.

@the5ervant: I've resisted including Roil Elemental in the past because it's so fragile, but I suppose I can include it based on the ability.

@Epochalyptik ~ I'd have to concede the point that its prbably not a staple card. I was just thinking about that as a finisher in my ghave deck because of all the sacrifice effects I run. Thank you for the feedback
