Would cards that make slow the speed of cards down like Dosan the Falling Leaf, City of Solitude, and Grand Abolisher be considered stax cards?

Idk if it's important, but Braids, Cabal Minion is banned in Commander.

NO, she is banned AS a commander

@Tingettley: The "Banned as commander" category was eliminated in September of 2014. Cards that were banned as a commander are now simply banned.

@everyone: I'll get around to updating these lists sometime this week. I've been very busy, and these resources aren't super high on my list of things to curate, but I'll get to them.

Hello. May I ask if you are still doing this? I was going to make a list based off of yours, but I did not want to butt heads unless you were deciding to discontinue this project. I would be sure to cite you as my source and inspiration for my list. However, if you plan to continue with this, then I will not make my list. Mine was going to be more focused on cards that provided pure stax (or similar) affects. So you can see why I would be drawing a lot upon yours as inspiration. You have an excellent list.

You are missing Desolation, Contamination, Magus of the Moat, Balance, Rule of Law, Suppression Field, Tangle Wire, and The Tabernacle at Pendrell Vale.

Please get back to me when you can.

Is Pithing Needle not a stax card?

September 11, 2016 1:40 p.m.

Tingettley says... #12

@Kilgore; No its not. It doesn't punish anyone for playing anything. It just stops activations of cards

Brutal Suppression is a form of a Stax effect that you're thinking of. However never run it unless you can change your opponents creatures types... even then, don't run it.

Tingettley: yes I see what you mean. Is there a category of card that pithing needle falls into?

thats not stacks. stacks is where you do some form of resource denial when your opponent does something. he just gives you tokens.

would the parallax enchantments suit the list?

how about the symmetrical discard like the 3cmc lilianas, Bottomless Pit, etc?

I'll see if i can find some more stuff... as I'm currently building an Atraxa, Praetors' Voice Stax deck

Collective Restraint should be here too

I would add Tezzeret the Seeker to the planeswalkers, because he's (along with Jace and teferi) one of the few really powerful walkers in a stax build.

Does Kambal, Consul of Allocation count as a tax card? It doesn't cost mana or permanents but seems fitting. If not, is there a list of other cards like him I could find somewhere?
