Golgari Grave-Troll is the best dredger.

I'd been considering Golgari Grave-Troll for a while, my concern with him is being able to get him back into the grave after I dredge him.

What do you think I should pull out for him? Kessig Cagebreakers maybe?

I would highly recommend a 4x Satyr Wayfinder in place of Boneyard Wurm. Fixes mana, fuel the GY, and set you up for turn 3 so Splinterfright isn't a 0/0 when dropped. I like the idea that your running with. I'd also try to find a way to get some card draw so make the dredge payoff a lot more. I think the best route is Night's Whisper. I'd cut Greaves down to 2, Loam down to 2, and run 4x Night's Whisper.

Thanks for the suggestions, especially Satyr Wayfinder, I completely forgot that he feeds the grave.

I've been meaning to include some draw, but usually by turn 3 I'm dredging every turn instead of drawing, so I'd pretty much need Night's Whisper in my opening hand to have any chance of casting it. Unfortunately card draw with recursion is hard to find in these colors. I like Night's Whisper, and it serves well in a lot of other decks I run, but I'm concerned I'll just end up dredging it 90% of the time, and Eternal Witness is the only method I have of fetching it from the grave.

Yeah, I get what you're saying. I recommmended bc I run dredge also, and Night's Whisper works wonders for me. One I just thought about also... Lotleth Troll would be sick in this deck. Gets big quick, and can get dudes out of your hand and into the yard early as turn 2. I'd mostly like drop the Hero for the Troll. I'll be done bothering you now haha. A good list, lots of potential. +1

Yeah, I just playtested quite a few rounds with Night's Whisper and when I open with it it's nice, but when I dredge it I feel like it's a waste of something else I could have potentially dredged. Satyr Wayfinder on the other hand I'm ALWAYS glad to see, in my hand, in the grave, amazing card. Mad thanks for that suggestion. Seriously, he's good enough to pull with Sun Titan triggers if I get one out turn 4. That's made the deck so much faster.

Lotleth Troll seems like he could be the answer to my prayers where Golgari Grave-Troll is concerned. I didn't want to have to pay the and find a way to get him killed just to get my dredge 6 again.

If you are removing 2 Lightning Greaves, put 2 Golgari Grave-Troll in. Also, maybe remove 4 Oblivion Ring for 4 Path to Exile and 2 Intrepid Hero and 1 Unburial Rites and a Life from the Loam for 4 Lotleth Troll

And if you like Oblivion Ring, switch two out for Banishing Light just to be safe vs Maelstrom Pulse, Detention Sphere, Meddling Mage and Nevermore

Yeah, i've been testing with the trolls and definately will find space for both of them.

Path to Exile can't be fetched by Sun Titan like Oblivion Ring can, so I'd rather run Ring. Good call with the Banishing Light though. I know a few players in my circle that run Detention Sphere so that could be a game breaker.

Discard helps against control. Hitting yourself with it isn't bad at all, since you have so much Dredge. Liliana of the Veil is the obvious suggestion, but she's not budget in the slightest. What you could use instead is Necrogen Mists, or Smallpox.

Raven's Crime can destroy control in conjunction with loam.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. Sideboarded Raven's Crime over Tidehollow Sculler. Hadn't really considered how easily this deck can Retrace that.

A 1 of The Gitrog Monster could be useful as it has a great interaction with dredge, Scattered Groves, Raven's Crime and the list goes on. I realize he can't be brought back with Sun Titan, but a 6/6 deathtouch, haste, and shroud (from Lightning Greaves), and that has card draw potential is terrifying imo.

skoobysnackz: He's been on my eye for a while now. Even without Sun Titan being able to recur him, Unburial Rites and Doomed Necromancer would still be able to dig him out of the grave.

My only question is what do I pull out for him?

Cool deck! With Loaming Shaman already in the sideboard, he seems maybe less necessary game 1. I might also consider going down to 3 Raven's Crime as it's not as useful as Inquisition of Kozilek or Thoughtseize early on and you already have a lot of ways to get cards into your graveyard if you're using it on yourself.

Fair point about Loaming Shaman, I mostly just have him in there in case games run long (don't want to end up milling myself entirely). As long as I keep at least 1 in the sideboard he should be able to serve that purpose to some extent.

Raven's Crime is my only turn 1 play currently. I've thought about squeezing Darkblast in somehow, but a Turn 1 Raven's Crime discarding Stinkweed Imp gets some serious speed going. But it's true that once I'm in the late game, all that matters is having at least one of them sitting in the yard.

I'll probably swap out the one mainboard Loaming Shaman with Gitrog, and then look at maybe trading out a Raven's Crime or two for Darkblasts.
