Maybeboard

Spoiler: this deck hates Stranglehold.

Basic overall strategy is early-game control and late-game aggro. The point is to have an answer to everything, or at least be able to play through anything.

My playstyle depends on what I'm playing against. Normally I'll go for Yeva, Nature's Herald and Seedborn Muse as soon as possible to start cranking out threats. But if counterspell is a threat, I'll get Dosan the Falling Leaf to remove that element (provided Dosan resolves, of course). For token decks, Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite works pretty well. For noncreature-based decks, Gaddock Teeg is a hero. And so on. You get the idea.

Nifty synergy:

Captain Sisay + Yeva, Nature's Herald/Quicksilver Amulet/Thran Temporal Gateway = fetch creatures and play them at instant speed. Bonus points if Seedborn Muse is out too.

Captain Sisay + Myojin of Life's Web = having to hardcast the Myojin is well worth it when Sisay is continually filling my hand with threats.

Avacyn, Angel of Hope + any boardwipe = self-explanatory.

Avacyn, Angel of Hope + Sigarda, Host of Herons = another great Tooth and Nail duo. Surprisingly difficult to get rid of.

Dosan the Falling Leaf + Gaddock Teeg = "Just play creatures! You'll be fine!"

Yisan, the Wanderer Bard. He gets his own line, because I love this card so much. He can be a backup Sisay in a pinch when she's sitting in the command zone and costs 12. He's also strictly better than Birthing Pod because he's fetchable and doesn't require sacrificing a creature.
