The whole deal with this deck is to gain life while your opponent dies. Simple isn't it? It is also a remake of my last standard deck, check it out here Look At Your Life, Now Back At Me. [3/1 @ FNM!]
So lets do a run down of cool combos that could happen.
Ajani's Pridemate+any of the cards =
since essentially every card give you life, you nearly always get a +1/+1 counter every turn. I have had a 6/6 Pridemate out on the field by turn 3. Pretty cool right?

=Gain 2 life for each attacking creature and the opponent loses 1 life per attacking creature AND the damage they would take from said creatures.

=
Some people might disagree with this being here because it is a 1/1. But having three of these guys on the field and a pridemate allows for you to get 3 counters at any time. Also it is cheap for giving you life costing only
Gods Willing
=
Protection! Protection from everything!
Godsend
=
Its a nice scare tactic that is also able to placed onto any creature without being removed from the game when the creature dies.
Nyx-Fleece Ram
=
This near indestructible mother F* gives you life and early board control because basically nothing gets past it.
Valorous Stance
//Hero's Downfall =
Protection and being able to get rid of any dragon is nice.
Eternal Thirst
=
Gives your giant pridemate lifelink for more life!
Arashin Cleric
=
Turn 3, buffs up your pridemate and is a pretty effective blocker. And honestly, 3 life is pretty boss.
Brave the Sands =
Makes Nyx-fleece UNSTOPPABLE! I have saved myself countless time because of this card. Being able to block two creatures is amazing.
Spear of Heliod =
No cards in your hand? No worries! You can get rid of any nuisance on the field by destroying it with only 1WW!
Wingmate Roc
=
More life, and nearly always gets you a 3/4 flyer.
Brutal Hordechief =
Gives life for every attacking creature, and whittles away at the opponents life. For every creature, your pridemate will get a +1/+1 counter as well. Also his ability is boss as well. Activate it if you can't do anything else, and just make the opponent force all their blockers onto one creature to win.
Palace Siege =
Life every upkeep, and get to shock your opponents for free! Also, if late game, you can return a good chunk of creatures from your graveyard if you are desperate.
Radiant Fountain
=
Great card! You get 2 life for just playing it! The only drawback is that it is colorless.
Sideboard
Still need a bit of help with fixing this up, I have too much removal and I am not sure of what I really need in the sideboard.
Erase
=
Enchantment removal! Revoke can also remove gods and nullifies Scuttling Doom Engine's effect since they are exiled instead of destroyed.
Despise
=
Great against creature heavy decks, or Planeswalker decks.
Valorous Stance
=
A good card that opens you up to more options. Either protect your creature from death or kill an opponents creature.
Banishing Light=
Removal for permanents not able to be removed by any other means.
Center Soul=
Protection on their turn, then when your turn comes around, you get to get a free hit with a creature.
Foul-Tongue Invocation
=
Able to dodge hexproof Silumgar and other creatures that have protection.
Surge of Righteousness
=
With all the red decks going around, it is a great 2 mana card that destroys a creature and gives you life.
How a Game Should Go
T1- into Soulmender
T2- or into pridemate, tap soulmender for a counter
T3- Radiant Fountain or Scoured Barrens into Arashin Cleric. Swing for 6
T4- Play land, Play either Hordecheif, Brimaz, or any other creature at your disposal.
T5- Land and either Roc or Palace Siege.
T6- Win
