So in detail you cast release to the wind, on the stack you cast the wizard, targeting any creature but her with the original copy, then the second trigger happens from the wizard you just played and you exile the wizard with the copy of release to the winds, then are supposed to cast her again from exile before the spell hits the graveyard? Or do u have to cast two of the wizard? I fyou could explain the rulings and in more detail that would be cool. Or maybe I'm reading it wrong lol.

Lol nevermind i think i get it (just in case, so the original spell will stay on the stack until you decide to end the combo? you just keep increasing the stack and get infinite copies of her? I hope they don't ban this combo...

Apex_killjoy02 you got it bro! Now you're thinking with Meha-Power!

Yeah it is pretty brutal if you pull it off; I wanna perfect it!

love the deck! However after play testing it, I found that the wizard synergy wasn't that good (I felt like I consistently was having dead cards in hand). I put the deck in a blue control deck and it worked amazingly. Card draw was better and the control felt stronger and I had more cards to use as interaction.

So it seems like this is some sort of hidden gem... I have looked up this combo and no one has said anything about it? And the fact that this is a 2 card combo (3 if you count the monument) it should be easy to pull off, I dont think we should need many things, just card draw and counter spells? Maybe take out Naban to make 4 copies of Naru and monument. And then another opt, the only thing i would also work on is the sideboard, other wise this looks like a beast! I will definitly build this.

I think we should focus on trying to get the combo and holding our opponent back, not try to make the deck a normal deck. I found a cool combo where if you have Naban and you cast champion of wits you get 2 triggers (lol his is where the fun begins) i got 2 release to the winds in my hand now but no meha so i use one realease on champion and get 2 more triggers, found a meha and had a monument on the battlefield...I past the turn and casted meha and then release on champion of wits lol. My opponent conceded and never wants to play me again. :D

Apex_killjoy02 Interesting interactions! Yes, I have much playtesting to do still with this.

Falcons25irvine Excellent that you found some consistency; so share with me a deck list? I'm interested in seeing how it plays out. PM me if you like. I was considering going with a more control oriented base instead of midrange, but went midrange because of Naban. I'm very receptive to any ideas though! Change and differing views mean progression; its how evolution works.

I would say to take out treasure map and put in the trophy mages, treasure map is to slow for the deck and there was times when i wish i could've drawn trophy mage to win instead of drawing treasure map. Trophy mage seems like the right choice.

There is my list, its still a little clunky but I feel like it is in the right direction. I also think we could make a more tempo based version for the deck that abuses Naban.

You could also use aetherflux reservoir.

April 30, 2018 9:31 a.m.

Seems weak to aggro so maybe put this in a UW control shell? It would basically become a version of the Saheeli combo deck before it got banned.

April 30, 2018 1:34 p.m.

IDK what white would bring to the deck since we just want to draw cards and counter spells

April 30, 2018 1:58 p.m.

The problem is we dont have ways to deal with what slips through. Now you can have removal with white and lifegain for aggro which is our worst match up.

April 30, 2018 3:30 p.m.

Super cool deck! It feels like it needs 2 more lands.

For one less mana you have Siren's Ruse for infinite etb but no cast triggers. Then you just need Arcane Adaptation to get to draw your entire deck haha. Jk thats a much worse combo

May 1, 2018 1:06 a.m.

omg yeah that card works too

May 1, 2018 9:33 a.m.

it works if you have another creature but with the mana one you can target bontu's monument which is a guarantee every time you want to combo off.

May 1, 2018 9:50 p.m.

we ussually have a creature, BTW PLAY AETHERFLUX RESOVUIR

May 1, 2018 10:43 p.m.

and if this deck is to be viable we need aggro plan

Silvergill Adept will assist with the card draw - with Naban that's two cards for two mana - and Merfolk Trickster will give you some support to get the mana cost down.

foxinsox I thought about him; I just was concerned I did not have enough merfolk in the deck to justify such a transaction. Naban has to be on the board, trickster in hand, then I get two cards. That's why I just decided to go with Glimmer of Genius to even it out. That being said, maybe some board presence is needed to assist.

An Aetherflux resevior or Cabal Paladin would be extra copies of Bontu's Monument which, to be clear, triggers ON CAST not ETB as stated in the deck description.
The combo is in fact 'casting' meha so still works just fine.
Seems like a sweet combo, the problem for me is that you have to cast both the cards in the same turn meaning you need 7 mana to combo. I guess it could cost 6 if you had meha out already and then cast 2 Release to the Wind.
Fastest would be T2 baraal T3 bontu's T4 meha T5 Realease, Release.
I think maybe another mana ramp effect might be nice so that you can cast meha and release together on like T6.
Anyways I got 2 other combos im workin on before I do anything with this, but 2-3 card combos are always fun.
Oyah 1 more thing, If casting 2 releases is a good way to go, then maybe The Mirari Conjecture could be good. It could get you extra releases, as well as copy 1.

Yah also reminds me that Release to the Wind is a sneaky way to reset a saga.
