Hi everybody! So when I made this new rendition of my Artifact/Affinity Deck I had a vision of Hanna with a gigantic ship, full of rare artifacts all around her. I changed the colors around because only about 15% of the deck was colored at the time and added one of my new favorite commanders..
Her artwork..her ability..the synergy! Plus the fact that I haven't seen her in my pod before, I am really excited to test her out and turn this deck into a well-oiled machine!
A quick rundown of the deck..
1. Ramp Ramp Ramp.
This deck has what could be a scary low number of lands but the thing is if we look under the "custom categories" sorting we see that there are tons of rocks in this deck to equalize it out.
2. Cast artifacts, pillow fort and stax.
Drawing and tutoring will be the fastest path to outlasting the enemy. This deck is most about outlasting enemies and removing threats for the good of the table. Play this deck politically and build up a boardstate (or just eliminate your opponent's) with lots of protection so we aren't perceived as an easy target.
3. Outwit. Outplay. Outlast.
Keep drawing, keep casting artifacts, when needed play a big spell and recur the important artifacts and enchantments from the graveyard to be utilized again and again. When the time is right and when some players have been eliminated, bring out Basalt Monolith and Rings of Brighthearth for infinite mana and play everything. Sphinx's Revelation the entire library for an amazing victory. After that, feel free to mill someone with Stroke of Genius or Blue Sun's Zenith.
Quick Update 1: After playing this deck for a while, I've realized that while I enjoy playing this deck (I really do), I've found that Hanna has had a hard time really finding what separated her from some of my other EDH decks. I have decks that focus on discard, some are aggro or voltron, superfriends, etc.. but I have never tried brewing stax before. I'm not a stax player, so this was my take on making a deck that has heavy control from the perspective of a magic player who has never tried stax before. That said..it's now a pretty effective stax machine.
Quick Update 2: ..And after some playtesting, a stax-only Hanna build never did quite what I wanted it to do. So I have now brewed a stax-combo hybrid that focuses on resource control/denial (Winter Orb, Land Equilibrium) and taxes (Rhystic Study, Aura of Silence). Now it has become full of artifact combos with the inclusion of cards like Paradox Engine and Power Artifact. Here are all the combos in the current build:
Combo 1: Basalt Monolith + Rings of Brighthearth = infinite mana, then play Staff of Domination or an 'X' draw spell like Braingeyser to draw our library and win with Blue Sun's Zenith, targetting our opponents. Blue Sun's Zenith is tutorable with Mystical Tutor, Intuition or Spellshaper; Staff of Domination is tutorable with Fabricate, Enlightened Tutor, Reshape, Inventors' Fair, Tezzeret the Seeker, Whir of Invention or Trophy Mage. From there, we can mill our opponents to death with cards like Blue Sun's Zenith. Note: requires at least 2 additional mana of any color (and 1 blue for Stroke) before basalt monolith is tapped for combo. These two cards also combo with Sensei's Divining Top for infinite draws.
Combo 2: Basalt Monolith or Grim Monolith + Power Artifact = infinite mana, play a card like Stroke of Genius or Staff of Domination to draw our library and win with Lab Maniac.
Combo 3: (The jank combo): Commander's Sphere + Paradox Engine + Hanna, Ship's Navigator + at least 5 mana from other rocks = Janky 4 card combo that allows infinite draws and mana. Play Hanna so that she can tap, cast paradox engine, play commander's sphere, tap all rocks and sac commander's sphere for draw, recur with hanna, cast again, do this infinite times to win with another combo listed.
Combo 4: (Lockdown): Winter Orb + Clock of Omens = One-sided lockdown. Really nice after boardwiping with Cyclonic Rift or Sunder. Alternatively, you can include Static Orb in place of Winter Orb and Blinkmoth Well or Master Transmuter in place of Clock of Omens.
Combo 5: The Most efficient combo with Turn-1 infinite mana or win potential. Isochron Scepter + Dramatic Reversal + 3 mana from non-land sources = Infinite mana. With infinite mana play Staff of Domination for a win.
If you know any more efficient combos please let me know!
Previous combos/win conditions:
Mindslaver combo (Lockdown): Difficult to pull of when facing more than two opponents but still possible with Paradox Engine, Hanna, Ship's Navigator and some rocks or one of our infinite mana engines. You can Mindslaver two enemies per round provided you have Rings of Brighthearth out with enough mana. When just facing one opponent, very easy way to deny our opponent their turns is by using Mindslaver every turn.
Grand Architect + Pili-Pala = infinite colored mana, then play an 'X' draw spell to draw library.
Solemnity and Decree of Silence to lockdown our opponents from casting spells.
Blightsteel Colossus: Infect damage, can be cheated into play with Master Transmuter
Mycosynth Lattice and Karn, Silver Golem: Equates to : destroy target land, with the ramp in this deck, this usually led to a one-sided land wipe after a few turns.

Thank you to everyone for making this the highest-rated Hanna, Ship's Navigator deck on TappedOut!
