You should update the name of this deck to Goth Mafia! You could also add the "Counters" tag for a few more views perhaps.

zebeg, great suggestion! Honestly, Nyx-Fleece Ram was part of the initial considerations for the deck. It's a great card for Karlov's mechanics, as is anything that gives steady, reliable life gain of any amount. It never made the final cut mostly because of my own desire to keep a vampire focus in the deck. I know there aren't any tribal elements or anthems in the deck, and there really are only 12 vampires in here, but I am hesitant to cut a vampire at this point. For example, I recently replaced Go for the Throat and it broke my little heart, but it was replaced with Vindicate and I sprung the money to get the one with Sorin on it to try to maintain the vampiric representation. It may be sub-optimal, but it's what feels right to me. Another good example is Eternal Thirst, it's a good card for the mechanics, but could easily be upgraded. However, it may never leave the build because, I mean... it's so vampirey! It's a personal taste thing. I really appreciate the thought and suggestions, though. Are you putting together a vampire and/or lifegain deck?

MokraMrkva, great suggestions as well! Cliffhaven Vampire was actually in the original build and stayed for years, but eventually I switched it out for Vona, Butcher of Magan. I like cliffhaven for sure, but its ability is just sort of a very watered down Defiant Bloodlord /Sanguine Bond and through playing I just never found it to have as much Umph as so many other cards. I had never seen Gifted Aetherborn, good eye! Kind of a poor man's Vampire Nighthawk, eh? Definitely a good consideration, but the deck is getting to the point, I feel, where is may have passed Gifted Aetherborn's power by. You working on a vampire/lifegain deck, or just a fan?

Well of Lost Dreams and Dawn of Hope are pretty decent for budget imo, didn't see them on the list. Little extra card draw.

Dross_Mcbane : Great suggestions. Well of Lost Dreams was in the initial build. I found that I was always spending my mana on other stuff, but as I've been refining the deck, card draw seems to be the weakest link, so it's definitely worth testing out some more. I had never seen Dawn of Hope before. Nice to be able to produce life-linkers and have such a cheap source of card draw. I appreciate the suggestions!

Card draw to consider: Read the Bones, Ancient Craving (bonus points for vampire theme), Sign in Blood, Arguel's Blood Fast Flip, Syphon Mind, Damnable Pact, Disciple of Bolas

Turns out there was already a Temple of Silence in this deck (need to update it on here) so I added it to Bugs in the Kitchen and Mold in the Sink.
