Phantom Wings is great in a ninja deck like this.

@Mooer Ah, a nice cheap card. Any recommendations as to which cards I would replace?

Perhaps Shuriken because the wings can actually be used to bounce your opponent's creatures too if needed. It can of course allow you to bounce and replay your ninjas while also functioning as evasion for them. Perhaps the Whispersilk Cloak s could go to fit a playset of the wings, or maybe just drop the lands down to 22? Ultimately it's your decision as you know your deck best.

Yeah, I'll have to do some play testing. Thanks for the suggestion! =D

I would add in 1 or 2 Okiba-Gang Shinobi for synergy with Ink-Eyes. Not sure what you should replace though.

@buildingadeck Ahh, nice addition, and cheap cards too.@Ryozake I had them in the deck at first instead of the Throat Slitters, but after some play testing I decided that the Throat Slitters had better utility, and for less mana too. Ink-Eyes doesn't come out too too often, so to add them to the deck for his sake wouldn't be the best option.Thank you both for the suggestions =D

How about Triton Shorestalker instead of Tormented Soul. You never know when you might need just one extra blocker to save your butt. Also how about adding cards with ETB effects like Augury Owl, Sending creatures back to your hand to play others is kinda counter-productive but with creatures like the owl you at least get a benefit from casting it again. Just something for you to consider. Overall nice deck so far! Ninjas are awesome! :D

@nano2121 Awesome, Triton Shorestalker is definitely the better option. For Augury owl, I'd like to spend as little mana on my unblockables so that I have more for the ninjutsus, as well as Higure's ability. Thanks for the suggestions =D

Cover of Darkness might also be a card to consider. Fear isn't has good as unblockable, but it still gives it to all your ninjas.

@Ryozake I'm trying to keep the deck modern. Thanks for the suggestion though!

I just tested it (I'm trying to get into Modern on a budget) and it's too susceptible to removal. I would say you need Invisible Stalker even though he adds a small cost to the deck and to the avg cmc. I think he's better than Triton Shorestalker because once your opponent knows what you're going to do, they'll kill him immediately.

Wow, this looks pretty awesome! Maybe a bit of removal could be in hand, since you're playing black, but all in all, nice work!

Doom Blade and Dark Betrayal would do well for removal for you. (Doom main and Betrayal side). I also think that Invisible Stalker is your best option for your dudes, despite taking a little longer to get out. The trouble with the one drop unblockables is Game 2. Your opponent knows what you want to do now, so if he just kills off your useless swingers, he's clear to do as he pleases for a while. Also, if you intend to keep Ornithopter, Ensoul Artifact could be nice as an alternate win condition.

I am building this very deck for myself tomorrow! :3

I love it so.

This deck is already great, but maybe something that returns creatures to you hand? Both for protection and using the ninjitsu all over again.

@famouswatermelon I do run 2 phantom wings, which seems to be enough

@buildingadeck I have tried invisible stalker, but it just doesn't work so well. I need all the mana I can get to activate Higure's effect. But, game two is indeed a weakness of this deck. I'll add it to the sideboard. The control from mistblade and throat slitter is pretty consistent and I haven't felt the need to add more control.

Nice deck! I've been tinkering with a Ninja/Faerie deck that eventually went mono blue Go Ninja Go Faeries Go! Budget Deck main trouble I have is the game going late game and simply not having the power to finish them off. Packing some Vapor Snags and Unsummon are handy for getting your guys through seeing's as the Mistblade only bounces after and they're useful for getting you Ninjas out of scrapes.

Distortion Strike looks neat, I might run try it out in mine!

Shadow Alley Denizen might be useful as well

@smudgedredd I've considered trying out the fairy combo myself to see how it compares. The shadow alley denizen won't work too well, since my creatures come onto the field after the opponent has declared blockers, so the effect wouldn't work in time. Thanks for the suggestions though!

So far I've found them fun, when the game is in your favour you're bouncing stuff around, drawing cards and countering everything. When you're on the backfoot though it's really hard to claw back. I am convinced Ninjas and faeries can work on a budget, just needs a bit more tinkering! Worth giving it a look some of the black faeries are neat.

I like Dire Undercurrents but it's mana cost means at that point in the game you've probably got other stuff you need to be casting!

I love themed decks, I already have a werewolf and a vampire deck, but I don't like to break the bank. This deck looks fun and comes in at a very low price. Good job!
