This deck showcases Sydri's potential as a combo commander by animating artifacts, yielding unique interactions.

I’ve always loved Sydri, but I got a lot of inspiration from wallofpain's and gminnick's Sydri deck. Please go look at those if you are interested. Thank you.

VERSION 5 UPDATE:

Added more consisitent infinte mana combos.

Added more interaction, particularly counterspells. (Dispel, Veto, Counterspell, Spell Pierce.) This deck was sorely lacking in that department.

Added Lightning Greaves.

Re-added Aetherflux Reservoir. It's back!

Reworked land and mana rock base slightly.

Removed more expensive interaction (Sudden Death, Return to Dust)

REMOVED ALL INFINITE DEATH TRIGGER COMBOS. These combos were bad for two reasons: Mana intensive (both required a 6cmc card in either Sharuum or Salvaging Station), and they took up a lot of deck slots. This deck is now much more focused on infinite mana combos.

Heavily considering Grim Monolith and Power Artifact. However I don't own any of those cards and likely won't ever will, and I'm trying to keep this deck my lightest on proxies (there are only two at the moment: Vampiric Tutor and Staff of Domination.)

Small update: Switched Charcoal Diamond out for Mox Amber because I got one. Switched Training Grounds for Rings of Brighthearth because I got one (I didn't have Training Grounds) and I think it's better for the deck anyway. Switched Dimir Machinations out for Perplex because the transmute is a little easier for the deck and I feel like I'm slightly more likely to actually cast perplex. Now also considering Ancient Tomb .

Arcane Denial , Counterspell , Mana Leak are the counterspells that can deal with any threat.

Dispel , Dovin's Veto , Muddle the Mixture , Spell Pierce , Swan Song , can only hit noncreature targets, mostly for protection.

Dispatch , Path to Exile , Swords to Plowshares easily deal with problematic creatures.

Chain of Vapor can deal with anything (for a time), and Cyclonic Rift is obviously busted.

Clutch of the Undercity can even be used in a pinch.

We need to find the combos somehow!

Demonic Tutor , Vampiric Tutor , Grim Tutor , Demonic Consultation , are great, they find any card. Not much to say here.

Enlightened Tutor , Fabricate , Reshape , Whir of Invention , Tezzeret the Seeker , Inventors' Fair can find any artifact. Most combo pieces are artifacts so these are very useful as well. Whir can be done on an opponent's end step.

Trinket Mage , Tribute Mage , Trophy Mage : This trio can all find specific CMC artifacts, many are combo pieces. They can all also find mana rocks and infinite mana wincons (except tribute).

Mystical Tutor will usually search up another tutor or Dramatic Reversal

Muddle the Mixture , Dimir Machinations , Clutch of the Undercity are our transmute cards, they can find a wide variety of combo pieces, and can each find a mana rock or infinite mana wincon (except clutch)

Lim-Dul's Vault is an stupid strong. It can find entire combos.

These combos are our main win lines.

Sydri + Voltaic Construct + Basalt Monolith / Thran Dynamo / Gilded Lotus (Requires 2U, can come from rocks)

Rings of Brighthearth + Basalt Monolith (Requires 5 colorless, can come from Monolith)

Metalworker + Staff of Domination (3 artifacts in hand) / Voltaic Construct (2 artifacts in hand)

Isochron Scepter + Dramatic Reversal + Any number of rocks producing 3+ mana

Aphetto Alchemist + Illusionist's Bracers + Any rock (Requires 3 generic (equip), can come from rock but not from Aphetto)

Sydri + Basalt Monolith + Illusionist's Bracers (Requires 6U, can come from Monolith)

These make you win with:

Walking Ballista / Dimensional Infiltrator / Staff of Domination (Important note: Gilded Lotus and Dimensional Infiltrator don't work together!)

Sydri + Voltaic Construct + Sol Ring + Training Grounds (Requires 2U, can come from Sol Ring)

Sydri + Training Grounds + Basalt Monolith (Requires 2U, can come from Monolith)

Sydri + Staff of Domination + Thran Dynamo / Gilded Lotus + Training Grounds (Requires 2U, can come from rocks)
