I've tried Deathrender before and there were times when it would be great but since it can be hard for me to find a card draw engine I felt like it wasn't really pulling its weight. Definitely an awesome suggestion though and I could see it working in another build! I haven't actually tried Nim Deathmantle so I'll have to give it a shot. Thanks again!

Have you ever tried including creature stealing spells like Besmirch, Hijack, Malevolent Whispers, Mark of Mutiny, Traitorous Blood, Traitorous Instinct, Unwilling Recruit. I understand that it might not fit your theme or it may be too slow or situational, but the look on my friends faces when I return those creatures to their own faces is priceless (and ofc it doubles as the sweetest removal). Anyway just wondering if you thought it is viable or consistent enough?

Thanks for the comment Furiosto! Threaten effects are really popular with Brion but personally I think that they just aren't good enough to run. If you want to build a deck that gets max value out of threaten effects you should try Marchesa, the Black Rose.

Might I suggest Stalking Vengeance to get some more damage in? And personally I would suggest Stonehewer Giant over Steelshaper's Gift since you don't have a way to recur the gift, stonehewer can be reused.

And to combo with that maybe replace some of your non-artifact protection with more equipment like Whispersilk Cloak etc.

Oh I don't mind at all! In fact I'll be updating the primer of my deck sometime tonight or tomorrow night. When I do that I can put your deck link in my description as well if you would like. It seems as if yours is a little more life-gain oriented while mine is a little more combo oriented I guess? Like you take a little more advantage of the life Brion gives you and I'm just like "I want to deal as much damage as possible as quickly as possible by abusing brion and other damage dealing effects." But you've also given me some neat ideas that I may transfer over to my deck as well. HOORAY FOR COLLABORATION!

Yea I think that sums it up perfectly. I have more ways to work with life-gain and you are more oriented for faster kills and dishing out lots of damage. I definitely don't mind if you link my deck in your primer!

So I just started making a Brion list of my own, and I saw yours was the top rated. First off: Congrats! :) Second, I feel like Feldon of the Third Path, as well as Flameshadow Conjuring would be welcome additions to your deck.

Bazaar Trader, Conjurer's Closet, and Synod Sanctum let you steal guys forever if just Flinging 1 guy a turn wasn't enough. Also, the Helm of Possession maybe? Steal a guy with one of your steal effects (attack with it)>sac it to helm to steal another>Brion the guy you just stole. That's stealing and killing 2 guys a turn for 4 mana. You can even steal protection from instants/sorceries like Emrakul, the Promised End with the helm.

Thanks for the comment spookfish! Honestly Staff of Nin is just in the deck for card draw. I originally had Mind's Eye in that slot but for whatever reason I'm just not a big fan of Mind's Eye. Do you have any suggestions for replacements?

Well I might suggest Skullclamp for card draw. In the long run it is more mana, but it generates more cards, comes out much faster, and can be used multiple times per turn.
