Does anyone think its possible to be competetive running all white???

I think it is, I made one as an example: Standard Monowhite. But with Suntail Hawk , Griffin Sentinel , and Pay No Heed , I don't really know how competitive this deck can be.

You badly need some two casters in here to flush t the mana curve, there aren't two drop angels, but here's the gatherer page with everything in post-rotation standard that could work...

Also, with mono-white, you most likely can get away with 22 or maybe even 21 lands. You don't need to increase the odds of getting the colors you need.

thanks guys. Sounds good. I have playtested this a couple times against my current standard deck and it has yet to come even close to a win. So i should replace the suntails and griffins. maybe replace the mutavaults and pay no heed too? I dont know why but i really like pay no heed. Also if trading post is in M14 I definitely want them in there. :)

Well heres my new standard deck. Im feeling pretty good about it and there are probably some good cards I can swap in from the theros block. If anyone has any suggestions i am listening. What do you all think of this now?

As an idea, Heliod, God of the Sun and Sphere of Safety would be a great mono-white combo.

Wow a 5/6 indestructible for 4 mana!?! Not sure about the devotion aspect though. Does that mean if my devotion is less than 5 he wont have summoning sickness or that he cant attack or block until it is and he becomes a creature??

He isn't technically a creature until your devotion is up, so he won't be able to attack or block until it is. On the flipside, he can't be targeted by spells that target creatures until then too. But since you're running mono white, you shouldn't have a problem with devotion.

I'm sure someone has a sideboard that will destroy this but not around here. What should I look out for? Please give me some examples of standard decks that will stomp on this cause I am wrecking hard .

Nykthos is good for mana ramp but not early on. Also I encountered a card last night that returns all creatures who dealt combat damage to their owners hand. I need an answer to that.

VinnieVici You asked if white could be competitive, the answer is most definitely yes! There are a few variants, but all work rather well. One example is my current build; White Power (4x 1st in FNM + Game Day) Which has kept me consistently in the top 8.

Silence won't help as much as you think. 4x Brave the Elements is MUCH more important. 2x Spear of Heliod could be useful as well in place of the other two Silence .

I enjoy playing the silence card in my opponents upkeep phase before they can cast anything. Giving me essentially another turn while they cannot build. However they still get to drop land and maneuver whatever is already in play. I have seen many players get extremely frustrated by this and lose their focus. Silence is IMO very powerful . I do like the spear and have 2 . I never even considered its power here but it is nice.

Have you considered Banisher Priest it adds some temp. removal and adds WW to devotion helping you ramp

The only answer right now is exile with banisher priest.

Also lets not forget Elspeth herself can destroy those creatures with her -3 ability !!

Great deck just bought it off tcgplayer although I made them all foil though and can't wait until they come in.

oh btw when i copied the deck over to change somethings it says your deck is not standard legal... it is modern legal though.
