Cicjose, how would that be beneficial? Only 4 green creatures in the deck.

If you want to play Delver, you need a lower land count, higher instant/sorcery count and 4 Serum Visions. You can also use Telling Time if you can't afford them. There are only 22 instant/sorceries and no scrying, so Delver will flip with 1/3 chance per turn - too low.

The deck is basically a bit split between wanting to be aggressive with low lands for Delver, versus wanting a lot of lands to play CMC 4 spells utilising hexproof bombs. I would drop Delver and focus on the latter aspect.

Thanks for the competitive advice. I like telling time here, serum too pricey. But, this deck is mostly casual so....

Lovely deck! How about a couple Eternal Witness to occasionally recycle a card?

(ack I just read above! I suspect my suggetion was a little too pricey. Let's retreat on a more money-friendly Recollect)

Have you considered Sagu Mauler? Nice little hexproof bomb, and way less expensive than Thrun to get your hands on

If you wanna counter all, you may include some good midrange counters like Remand, Spell Pierce and Spell Snare.

Disallow would be great ; )Denthrass

In my opinion Disallow > Voidslime cuz it doesnt need a green that you could use elsewhere and besides mana coloring they are the exact same just Disallow is more flexible

More than a few cards, that maybe aren't quite what they could be. Mistcutter Hydra for example. It takes 5 mana to make it proof against Lightning Bolts (you could play it as a 2/2 for 3 mana, and keep counter-mana up, but that seems to be somewhat wasteful). It also only is good against blue decks that try counter it, but it dies perfectly well to Supreme Verdict - is creatures being countered really that much of a problem?

Nimble Obstructionist would fit your deck well, I think. That's both counterspell and card draw, or a 3 power creature, depending on what you want. And you should definitely put Squelch in the sideboard - it's quite ok in a lot of matchups, but really shines against tron.

You could also consider splashing white - for something like Ojutai's Command, Spell Queller, and/or Reflector Mage.

If what you mostly want to accomplish with counterspells is protecting your creatures, it could be an idea to run some of the really mana-cheap ones, like Spell Pierce.

I think it would benefit from Fertile Ground - lots of important spells here need mana. Frankly, I think counterspell[s] are over-rated - they demand all your mana early game and if your counterspell CMC is higher than the spells you're targeting, you're left without a blocker if you run out of mana to counter their, say, second creature on T2. Counterspells vs Removal - the great thing about removal spells is that you get to cast them when you're ready/when you need, vs having to counter immediately as opponent's cast. You have 19 control spells - all of which are righteous, no doubt, but I wonder if you'd be just as well off with, say 4xFog, 4xLignify, and 2xBeast Within while also adding 4xFertile Ground and 4xRampant Growth. I realize this is a titty-twister of an idea, and I completely understand that a lot of people will probably [validly] disagree with a lot of what I'm saying, but I thought these musings might possibly rejuvenate some creativity on your end or at least put some added perspective that might help make your vision more clear.

Why not have Counterspell instead of Mana Leak?

August 1, 2019 10:33 a.m.

2 U vs 1. And I think my copies of counterspell are being used in other decks. Lots of good suggestions here for sure. I just hardly ever play or break out my decks anymore sadly.

I always try to jam Repudiate / Replicate into decks. This seems like one that might like a few copies.

August 4, 2019 8:11 p.m.

I feel like maybe you don't need as many lands because most of your cards' mana cost and abilities require at max 4 mana.

Glimpse of Freedom might be better for the deck than Think Twice as you don't have any other need the graveyard for anything else and they cost the same overall but it would allow for you to use it in your graveyard more often.

Counterspell is now legal

Impulse or Consider over Think Twice

Tarmogoyf is like 10$ if you ever felt like adding some or perhaps Murktide Regent
