Work In Progress

Attempt to make a strongish deck (I guess power level 7) while trying to keep a tyranid theme within the deck. One thing that I believe WoTC missed was the fact that Tyranids should be outnumbering everyone else. To try and compensate for this I'll be using Magus Lucea Kane to duplicate Tyranids with Ravenous. I know there aren't sideboards in EDH. I'm just using that to separate the Tyranid cards from the rest of the 'maybe' cards to go into the deck.

This deck is not meant to be competitive, but supposed to be played against my friends. However I will include potential competitive combos in the description.

I'm happy for any suggestions and I'll add any combos to the description for people to read if they want to make their own Magus Lucea Kane deck

Explanation of specific card choices

Twinning Staff is a great card for this deck. It's a 3 mana artifact that will generate 1 more copy every time Magus Lucea Kane copies anything. It's not limited to instant or sorcery spells which is what I initially thought it did. This means that you can copy any ravenous Tyranid 2 times.

Basic Infinite Combos

  1. We can get infinite copies of any X cost spell using Freed from the Real + Magus Lucea Kane + Prismite . This combo works by tapping Magus Lucea Kane for 2 colourless, then using that mana to pay for Prismite to make a blue mana. Using that blue mana you can pay for Freed from the Real to untap Magus Lucea Kane and repeat. You can substitute Freed from the Real for Pemmin's Aura, and you can substitute Prismite with Gemstone Array. From this you can copy a Ravenous Tyranid many times to win the game through combat damage, Goblin Bombardment, Impact Tremors, or casting a burn spell for X=1 with infinite copies

  2. Infinite copies and mana with Magus Lucea Kane + Mana Reflection + Umbral Mantle . Tap Magus Lucea Kane for 4 mana thanks to Mana Reflection. Using that 4 mana you can untap Umbral Mantle and repeat. This nets you 1 copy and 1 colourless mana every loop. Using this you can get how ever much draw you want with any of the Ravenous Tyranids like Broodlord. 30 copies of Broodlord will draw you 30 cards. Be careful with copying Ravenous Tyranids because if you were to copy them 1000 times then you would have to draw 1000 cards, making you lose the game. You can substitute Umbral Mantle with Sword of the Paruns and Mana Reflection with Nyxbloom Ancient. From this you can win the game through combat damage, Goblin Bombardment, Impact Tremors, etc

Competitive combos I'm not using currently but you can

Magus Lucea Kane makes tutoring for a combo insanely easy because she copies spells. With any X cost tutor such as Finale of Devastation (FOD) or Reshape you can grab 2 combo pieces for 1 card or potentially more if you really want to abuse the system. Essentially any 2 card combo that uses 2 creatures or 2 artifacts will work in this deck

INFINITE MANA (And a bit more)

  1. FOD X=4 for infinite mana and ETBs is to tutor for Dockside Extortionist and Temur Sabertooth or Deadeye Navigator + Peregrine Drake (if x=6). This can net you infinite treasure tokens pretty easily if there's enough artifacts/enchantments on the field under your opponents control. From here you can win if you have Impact Tremors or Warstorm Surge

  2. FOD X=3 for infinite mana, cards, ETBs. Use the 1st copy of FOD to tutor for Dualcaster Mage to copy Finale of Devastation. Then you can find Dockside Extortionist with the 2nd copy and with the original FOD Spellseeker. Using Spellseeker to find Neoform you can sacrifice Dualcaster Mage to find Temur Sabertooth. This gives you the infinite mana combo from before but now you also have the option to repeatedly play Spellseeker to tutor for all the small 2 or less instant or sorcery in your deck. This means you can tutor for cards like Finale of Revelation as well. Again you can win the game with Impact Tremors or Warstorm Surge

  3. Reshape of Whir of Invention for infinite mana. Tutor for Basalt Monolith + Rings of Brighthearth

  4. Typical Food Chain combo for infinite mana and ETBs. Thanks to Temur colours you can use Squee, the Immortal, Misthollow Griffin, and Eternal Scourge to give you easy access to infinite mana with Food Chain.

INFINITE TURNS

  1. FOD X=5 and 4 open mana. tutoring for Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker and Timestream Navigator. Then use Kiki-Jiki copy Navigator and use the copies ability to take an extra turn. Take extra turn and repeat.

  2. FOD X=6 and 6 open mana and way to draw a card. Tutor for Charmbreaker Devils and Spellseeker. Using seeker find Mystical Tutor. Then use mystical tutor to find Time Warp. Draw time warp and cast it. When your next turn starts, Charmbreaker will return time warp to your hand to play again.

INFINITE COMBAT

  1. FOD X=7 and at least 4 creatures on your field before casting. Aetherwind Basker and Lightning Runner
