I agree that Ramunap Hydra is pretty bad, but check out Frank Karsten's article over at ChannelFireball. It's really more accurate to say we're a at a point where a 3/3 for 4 with 3 keywords that needs 14-18 Deserts to be a 5/5 isn't very good. In that context, it's maybe not so disturbing :-)

well even at its best we've become accustom to creatures being natural 2 for 1s. Glorybringer, Avacyn, Spell Queller, Torrential Gearhulk, Grim Flayer all these cards offer card advantage in addition to the body they put on the board.
