? odd question... but what is meant by 12-post?

July 20, 2013 4:44 p.m.

Aha! Well, Cloudpost and Glimmerpost are 8 of the 'Posts,' where Vesuva and Thespian's Stage copy Cloudpost for the other 4, making 12 Posts that produce tons of mana.

With three Cloudpost in the board, each produces 3 mana...

ahh! that explains it. thanks

Sure thing! Thoughts on the deck?

Nice but the one thing I thought I should point out was that cast and put on to the battle field are very different. If you play Green Sun's Zenith with Emrakul, the Aeons Torn in a tournament and look for another turn you got another thing coming! But again nice!

Green Sun's Zenith only targets Green creatures, so it's primarily for Primeval Titan ... Worldly Tutor can find anything, and Eye of Ugin tutors colorless creatures, Eldrazi and Artifact creatures.

And thanks! You plus 1 sir? I could use the love lol.

Eh. I have Expedition Map , Ancient Stirrings (which is versatile), and Crop Rotation . Plus Prime Time.

I could replace Explore with Sylvan Scrying , however being able to lay an extra land and draw a card is pretty boss.

Elvish Piper. Quicksilver Amulet

September 16, 2013 6:09 p.m.

I would lose the benefit of hard casting the Eldrazi. The point of 12 Post is to be able to hard cast them. Prime Time and Wurmcoil would be ok, though. Plus, Elvish Piper has a huge target on her head.

@ Smaug1007, @ Lordoffurriness. What do you think otherwise?

Asceticism.

I like this alot. +1 good sir.

@ cakrause86 Much appreciated good sir, thank you!!! I think I mentioned in my description it's a 'semi budget' Legacy deck, in that I don't have the dough to drop on the better cards that could be here. Thus, I've made do; improvise, adapt, and overcome, if you will.

Do you have any critique?

October 13, 2013 12:33 a.m.

@aeonstoremyliver, not much I could critique. I am always on a semi budget too. I like all the options you have in the deck and sideboard. It's a nice toolbox. This is a deck I would definitely play.

Thanks man! I have a friend of mine that runs a competitive Dredge and also an Affinity deck. I've successfully stomped him with this. Granted they were great, down to the wire games, but I'm confidant this deck is at least a tier 1.5.

You desperately need Crucible of Worlds in your sideboard. I playtested this deck against my Glacial Fog deck and I think you're forgetting that Crucible of Worlds and Life from the Loam exist. Sure you can Crop Rotation a new Cloudpost out, but when I sided in my Ghost Quarter s in game two and just continued to recur them over and over again, that was not enough. You ended up losing the game with a 0-post deck and then had to sit and let me re-cast Syphon Life on you two games in a row for the win.

October 16, 2013 9:13 p.m.

Pithing Needle stops Wasteland , Ghost Quarter , etc. It's not only a cheaper CMC but not a $20-30 card :-) I was wanting to either run a few main board or make room for more in the side.

If I were to ever run a Simic Post, I'd use Teferi's Response .

October 18, 2013 6:45 p.m.

@ Smaug1007 What would be the point of Asceticism ? It's a wasted slot, IMO. Even if Prime Time is removed, I still got tons of value out of it. Additionally, Emrakul can't be targeted by spells anyway. Once he resolves, GG...

Since it is monogreen maybe Bellowing Tanglewurm ? Intimidate across the board.

Nick, Bellowing Tanglewurm could be a good add in certain matchups. The lone Acidic Slime offers more utility. Typically Primeval Titan hits turn 3-4 and the following turn an Eldrazi. Intimidate would be a more useful mechanic in an Aggro deck like Elves and such.

saltedpeanuts The mana investment it takes to cast and activate Quicksilver Amulet I could use to hard cast the Eldrazi and reap the benefits of said casting. That's the point of 12 Post, to generate enough mana to hard cast Eldrazi.

I do appreciate the suggestions and up votes , though :-)

even though this is mono green, I suggest adding one or two Golgari Rot Farm . It can create infinite mana when paired up with Magus of the Candleabra. +1

December 2, 2013 9:07 p.m.

Thanks! How would it create infinite mana? Golgari Rot Farm ETB tapped, but with 2x Amulet of Vigor out I can tap for 4 mana, then use Magus to untap, then tap for a total of 5...

Oops. I forget it taps to activate the ability. Sorry.
