When you sit down across from this deck, you've made a blood pact with the leader of Clan Nel toth. This blood pact comes in the form of sacrificing your creatures as she desires. To facilitate that, we run the Pact sister enchantments, as well as their bigger creature brother, Butcher of Malakir. we also run the one shot pact creatures that have ETB sacrificial effects. All of this serve to shrink the level the playing field as we sacrifice our creatures to gain experience counters. This grindy midrange deck has a form of inevitability that seeks to drop a huge Lord of Extinction and sacrifice it to either Altar of Dementia or Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord. In addition to our win con, we use the pacts to combo with our spicy addition to the typical Meren deck; what I sum up as the witches brew three card combo that runs Bogbrew Witch, Festering Newt, and Bubbling Cauldron.
