@Forkbeard: yeah. That's why I said it's very costly. Casting it around seventh turn you'd need 14 mana to completely wipe out the opponent. But mana quantity is very important part of this deck and it really is able to produce such high levels of it.

@ Forkbeard @ Warxuaroz

Sorry, the TappedOut app hasn't pushed any notifications & i haven't been checking on messages lately because I've been so busy with work. Thanks for your comments & even repeat questions are welcome since I have created so many updates & archived past comments to keep things "current" (tho I see the last one from July came back with my last update). I comment to minor updates & typically "update" to major changes.

Anyways. All Is Dust is amazing. It's tutor-able & can be had for 5, with Eye of Ugin on board. Also Ancient Tomb, Temple of the False God and Shrine of the Forsaken Gods make it much easier to cast as well. I typically see one or more of those lands. I have used it to knock my opponents off a color, get rid of their Maze of Ith, or less obvious - hit their artifacts & Eldrazi! It's such an amazingly versatile wipe! Absolutely love it! It's also a critical answer for Iona, Shield of Emeria.

Descend upon the Sinful is here for the exile affect mainly, with a good chance of getting an angel out of it. The games I've seen it, probably 50/50 for delirium. There's a lot of GY recursion in my meta, more lately it seems than previously. It reduces the setback.

Mass removal - actually there's 7. All Is Dust, Rout, Austere Command, Descend upon the Sinful, Oblivion Stone, Cataclysmic Gearhulk & Ugin, the Spirit Dragon. I typically need the nuclear option two or more times a game. Dust, Ugin & O-Stone are some of my answers to Iona. You need to clear the path for your commander if you plan to win & targetted removal isn't getting it done when your facing down a swarm.

@Siq6Six: How is All Is Dust tutor-able? I'm afraid you have mistaken the Eldrazi subtype for the card being a creature. Or am I just not seeing it?

I'm sorry but I find a sincere enjoyment in seeing other fellow white player having a card in his deck that's an answer specifically for Iona. I know it's one card, I know it costs almost too much to be cast, especially in duel. Somehow though it really often lands before me either cast with mana since I can't finish the opponent fast enough and they can't break through my defences or triggered with Kaalia of the Vast.

I need to think it through with the mass removals. You make some solid points. Well, I need to playtest some.

I'd like to recommend two cards to you:
Vedalken Orrery, which really can help with effective mana usage letting you leave the lands untapped on opponent's turn but still being able to cast the permanent spells you want to have ready on your next turn.
Second one is Inspiring Statuary which I did put in the deck just to have some fun with it and probably see it is just bad. But then I caught myself stuck on three lands and five artifacts in play. Eldrazi Conscription? No problem! Swing for 14 with enchanted Fox holding a Sword with 3 lands in play isn't bad at all.

Also: I added you to the chat feature. You can do the same if you want to talk more about the decks not spamming the comment section. Unless it's okay with you.

I don't mind the comments section being filled up, as I find it very informative reading the back & forth in other decks.

Your absolutely right about Dust not being tutorable. I think I've caught myself before trying to do that too, Eye tutors for colorless creatures - which is damn useful! It was another way to get Duplicant, which I had in here & have pitched. In that case, i always had it in hand @ the wrong times! You might be able to get away with less mass removal due to the format. I've got to worry about 4 other board states in my meta, so sweepers are very important.

I'm at a point I am struggling to find slots for these cards lol. I pulled Transcendent Master, Ethersworn Canonist & crap I forget what else.... I put in the statuary, along with Treasure Keeper & Sram. I only saw statuary once & it was destroyed before I untapped. Good timing on their part too, I was @ 6 mana w 2 artifacts & Ugin in hand! Needed to exile the board too! Lol. TK should be a rock star here, but the 4 times I had it, it was pretty bad. Seems like cheating something in is great, and most my deck has a great utility & synergy - but maybe not when just randomly thrown out there. I'm going to give it a little more time before cutting it. Same with statuary. Tho I think I'm really going to miss Canonist. Sram never hit the board. So he's still in for testing.

Going back to Eye of Ugin. It cheapens Dust, Conscription & Displacer. I originally had It That Betrays but it just wasn't working out. I pitched Kozi cause I seemed to struggle for that 10 mana & usually drew it early game. i don't think I actually ever got the benefit of drawing a full hand? Maybe once. Tho I've considered other eldrazi. CoupleOf the newer ones. Also being able to tutor up a colorless creature is handy (more so if I end up bringing back Dup). With all that, it suuucks drawing early game. If I pitch it, I'll bring in an additional plains, as well as getting rid of conscription for maybe Worldslayer, or Sword of War and Peace. Just something I've been considering, again.

I feel sceptical about the Duplicant. It exiles a creature and can take it's X/X. Ok. But what is the chance the creature will be big enough to be a reasonable 6 mana spell? I aggree you can think of it as a 3 mana exile and a 3 2/4 creature. But who wants a blank 2/4 for 3?

Ethersworn Canonist looks really great! But doesn't it hurt you as well? Yeah, you do have a lot of artifacts but what if you NEED to cast something else twice?
I don't grasp the rockstarness of Treasure Keeper. Deck check? Knowing what you will NOT draw? Casting a random spell without paying for it? (or actually paying 4 for a blank creature to be able to cast a random spell? If the CMC could be higher I could aggree you can summon something big to help you out but with CMC 3 or less you're capped on less game-changing spells. Which are a bog part of the deck, but still -I just don't feel it.

SoWaP look really good in here. Free protection from white and red which is a pain to deal with. I think it's worth a solid consideration at least.

Duplicant isn't there to profit stat-wise. It's more of "another" single target removal that has the added bonus of being able to carry a big sword. It's tutorable & recurable. It can be bounced with Displacer for bonus removal. It gets around indestructible. Expensive, but versatile piece of removal. It's also an excellent answer to an opposing Iona! I'm seriously considering bringing it back.

You've raised some very good points about treasure keeper. Throwing it down Kind-of gets around mana flood & bad draws, when it dies. Otherwise it is a 3/3 beater. In fact, one of the times it's ability triggered last week, it threw out stasis snare with no valid targets. I'll probably swap bring back Canonist this week. Canonist rarely hurts me, I run enough artifacts.

So last friday sucked! Got half way through a game and the shop closed. Not enough people showed up to play standard, or were interested to play any other format. Night over @ 6:30. Have yet to see Sram do shit. The Statuary hasn't had a chance to shine yet either. I'm leaving them in, for now. I have yanked Treasure Keeper after some thought and Ethersworn Canonist is back.

I'm also bringing in Michiko Konda, Truth Seeker. I think it'll be an amazing piece to disincentive people from attacking me (Looking at you, Saskia). Not sure where it'll fit in yet.. Possibly Sram. Once I see how good or bad he really is. Considering I'll only have 12 or 13 pieces to make his ability matter, I wonder if thats too few. Maybe he is going to be a "Commander or bust" card.

Other changes - I'm going to pull Eldrazi Conscription and Eye of Ugin. Adding in 1 plains & most likely another equipment.

February 8, 2017 11:47 p.m.

Warxuaroz says... #9

@Siq6Six: Indeed, the Duplicant seems to be a great answer to Iona. It's tutorable and not so expensive if you consider you're against Iona, which is of 9 CMC. That is if you're not facing a hyperramp or Kaalia deck.
I do see the importance of the draw, especially in white, but I don't think Sram is really able to deliver in this matter. Although I am curious to see how it will go with you.
Also I am also considering putting Ethersworn Canonist in since I have a tough time dueling decks with craptons of mana and casting half their libraries at me. AND the Canonist is tutorable!

What do you think of Armory Automaton? It's not the most powerful card on its own but it looks like it could really do some mess while well-equipped. Not to mention it steals enemies' equips at least for the time of the combat step. Having the opponent have to spend mana to reequip it on his turn is also helping a lot.

Is Godsend really worth keeping? The exile is a really good thing but I found myself struggling to take anything out of this sword other than an overpaid +3/+3 on my creature.
I believe, and I wasn't a fan of it till two days ago, a Fireshrieker would do more. Having both the Shrieker and one of the Swords on one creature provides you with quite nice bonuses. I need to find a place for it in my armory though. I'm considering to take out the Sword of the Animist. How has it been working out for you?

What are your thoughts on enchantments like Duelist's Heritage or Absolute Law? Both are very rewarding and I'm being tempted to put them in but in my meta there is almost no enchantment removal so it's really safe. I'm interested in your unobscured insight though.

How many games do you play on an average evening? I found myself playing about ten every friday now which is an extremely large amount to me. That let me understand all the mechanics I use a lot more and to make my deck much better in result.

February 9, 2017 7:38 p.m.

Siq6Six says... #10

Warxuaroz Wow that's a lot of games! Lol we usually average 3 games a night, but got in 5 tonight. The games tend to run Long & we all swap out decks when we want to change things up. Tonight I got a couple in with 8.5, one in with Kaalia and a final with Breya.

So Sram is gonna go. I even tried him as a Commander because I just wasn't drawing it. I wasn't a big fan. To be fair, we had a Kami of the Crescent Moon, so card draw wasn't an issue. If I was to change commanders, I'd consider Michiko or Akroma.

Armory Automaton, and even Conqueror's Flail would be excellent additions. Hopefully we'll see a foil printing! The deck list above is an accurate list of my cards (at least, up until changes these past 2 weeks).

As far as Godsend, I've gone back & forth with this one. Tonight it came out in two games & was pretty good. Nobody wants their dude exiled, it's a great deterrent.... and sometimes the 3mana equip cost is a deterrent to play it! With Fireshrieker, I've had it & pitched it. I kept drawing it when I had nothing else, and I really didn't want to attack into bigger crap with a 2/2. I have considered giving it another shot tho. Sword of the Animist used to be an enabler. It helps turn on Emeria, The Sky Ruin & Emeria sheperd, not to mention helping me dig out Plains. However, I could see preferring double strike over 1/1 & land tutor.

Absolute Law I'd say maybe not unless your running into a lot of red in your meta. Duelist's Heritage will fail to target your creature if it's got pro-white.

I slotted in Sword of War and Peace. I actually kept out Canonist to make room. However with Sram going out, Canonist can come back in.

Eldrazi Conscription is out & in came Michiko Konda, Truth Seeker. More deterrence. Still makes them sac their crap!

Eye of Ugin is out & in comes an additional Plains. It had been a dead card in hand more times than it's been a tutor unfortunately. Also there are just too few Eldrazi to take advantage of it, esp with Conscription gone.

February 11, 2017 2:24 a.m.

Warxuaroz says... #11

@Siq6Six: That is a lot but considering overall playtime it might be same since I play duel commander and the games are sometimes finished (rarely but still) in 4th turn. Just today I got killed by Kaalia and Master of Cruelties combo on turn 4.

Armory Automaton is really good except you need to remember not to steal opponent's Umezawa's Jitte...

I still need to see Sword of the Animist having some action since I never tutor it and rarely play it even if it's in my hand since I have some more efficient equips already in hand or in tutor's reach. Aside from that it really is a good card considering the amounts of mana the Fox needs.
Speaking of mana: how about an Extraplanar Lens? It is a great ramp even on turn 3 with a minimum of 4 available mana on turn 4, usually 6 though. It is good to have snow-covered basics for this unless you have an ally running plains in a multi-player match.

You made a good point about Duelist's Heritage, I will not be putting this in the deck because of it. As to Absolute Law -yes I do have two mono red burns and a couple of izzet cannons in my meta. But the most outraging deck AND in a quantity of 5 on one FNM is the Vial Smasher the Fierce. It really needs a ban in duel. Just because of this I put Purity and Spirit Link to my mainboard and bought Michiko. I believe Absolute Law would help me a lot.

Sword of War and Peace is a good one to have in the Fox. I wanted to put it in but I'm not sure if the lifegain and life-loss are efficient enough. It might really help against red decks though.

I found something pretty interesting: Howling Mine. Looks good only as a 2 mana draw engine but yes, helps your opponent as well. What if there was a way to tap it? Well, Inspiring Statuary! How cool is that! Not only does it cost 2 but also gives you one every turn with the Statuary! The second part of the combo is tutorable if you already have one in hand and a consistent double draws for 2 just blow my mind. Sadly, you can't tap your artifacts for mana anytime, but only when you play a spell. You usually do so in your turn though. And even if you don't, you'll have plenty to cast with the Howling Mine. What do you think?

Another mechanic I'm considering is infect. Lost Leonin and Inkmoth Nexus are pretty good imo. And the fact you can equip them and swing with unblockable 10 damage on one turn seems like a win con.

February 11, 2017 8:43 a.m.

Siq6Six says... #12

@Warxuaroz I agree on Sword of the Animist. It'll be a tough decision if I do pull it. It does help with ramp & I have had to tutor for it, just to ensure I could get some plains in play. I've increased my plains count since, but I also don't mull for a perfect hand. Just something playable.

Have you ever had Extraplanar Lens bounced? I have. It's a feel bad moment lol. I also run a ton of utility lands which would not gain any benefit from the lens. It just wasn't as good in my list as it would be in others.

War & peace is a card I've been thinking about for a long time. Pro white is just more redundancy. It blocked me from attaching Godsend last night. I have slightly increased my card draw. My opponents tend to have big, limitless hands. So I decided to bring it in. Actually saw play twice & both times it was pretty good! I don't have many sources of life gain & even if i just have 3 cards, it's on par with Sword of Light and Shadow. Another reason I kept it out of the deck is I had the judge promos of the other swords prior to masterpieces and I wanted matching art. I liked the old art better than the modern masters art. I like the MP art the best, except fire & ice. It looks good, imo, but not the best art. Looks like a scorpion's stinger to me!

Best case scenario, having both Howling Mine & Inspiring Statuary sounds great. How likely will it happen tho? So you really need to come to the decision of who will benefit more from the card draw.

I've considered infect too. Don't forget about Grafted Exoskeleton. I think that, or the land would be easiest to get in tho. Just swap out a plains, tho I saw your removing colorless mana sources.

Last night I pulled out my Kaalia deck. 6 player game, and somebody had the card that makes artifacts & lands come in tapped, but I got her out on turn 4 or 5 I think due to rocks. I just went for it. My next turn I untapped, attacking the stax player - Master of Cruelties lmao. He was pretty unhappy, I just reminded him of the last couple games we played where he slapped down Iona & named white. After that there wasn't much goin on. Kaalia is pretty bad in MP.

February 11, 2017 2:28 p.m.

Warxuaroz says... #13

@Siq6Six:

Well, having the Lens bounced sucks but as I noticed playing here, people usually let me cast my mana rocks. Little do they know it's what really fuels this deck. They might see an opportunity to do so or to destroy it later at a point which would be really mana-dependent. I need to playtest it more and finally use it in a real match on FNM. I just put it in (was gathering snow lands).

Between SoWaP and Godsend, i'd choose the Sword. In fact, I'm really seriously considering to put it in. The lifegain/life-loss, however small, really would help me get thing done. Last FNM I had a draw just because I couldn't finish my opponent down from his ONE life before 5th turn of termination.

The masterpiece art for the SoFaI is a middle finger for me. I really dislike it. Scorpion's stinger indeed! Fiery-robot-space-scorpion! The others are nice. I like the MMA art the most and I buy only matching arts. I like how each of them glows with corresponding colours.

Yeah, the Howling Mine idea wasn't that great. I'm planning on making it better though. Blinkmoth Well and Relic Barrier are some options to rescue the Mine. I need some more time to think and explore.

Grafted Exoskeleton seems overpriced to me. And the sacrifice effect... I think I'll stay with the land. For now at least.
I was going to remove some colorless lands and put more snowlands but then the package arrived and as it turned out -I ordered two lands less than I wanted to. So now have room for two more colorless lands. :) I'm considering Inkmoth Nexus and Blinkmoth Well to test them both out. Inkmoth Nexus + Eldrazi Conscription looks good too.

Have you considered White Mana Battery? Since, I believe, you leave out 3 mana untapped anyway, it looks like a nice way to ramp for something beefy.

Also, what do you think of Quest for the Holy Relic? Looks like a nice extra tutor. You pay for it on 1st turn (I rarely do anything on turn 1) and just carry on with the game when suddenly bam, you have a free equip attached. Consider Argentum Armor. I already bought a copy, now it needs to be tested. And I need to find a place in the deck...

February 11, 2017 7:20 p.m.

Siq6Six says... #14

@Warxuaroz, Argentum Armor is great. Just need to find a way to get around the 12cmc to cast & equip. Stoneforge Mystic, Stonehewer Giant, Sigarda's Aid, Leonin Shikari, Armory Automaton, Quest for the Holy Relic, Brass Squire & Kor Outfitter all help with making it more playable. I rarely get more than one use out of it so I keep it in hand until I can cast, equip & attack in the same turn.

White Mana Battery looks interesting, but incredibly slow. Especially in your meta. Turn for you need to be doing something to stop them from winning.

You've got a point with Grafted Exoskeleton on being pricey, but it would likely be a game ender in duel. So sacrificing the creature would be less of a drawback. Also it's easier to throw down than say, Godsend since it requires 6 generic, total. Still, not a guaranteed 1-shot kill which I think is what you'd want when you play it. Unless you want to draw hate to protect other equipment.

February 12, 2017 5:41 p.m.

Warxuaroz says... #15

@Siq6Six: I didn't want you to consider the Armor itself, haha. I thought of Quest for the Holy Relic to be added in your deck considering it would be able to put on the battlefield and attach eg. Argentum Armor. :)

The Battery's casting cost makes it less useable but the ability itself seems not be be such a bad of an idea imo. I can't even playtest it except the tappedout feature because noone has it in here.

Grafted Exoskeleton has only one purpose, as you said: as a finishing shot. I don't want such non-versatile piece. Ok it also is somewhat discouraging to be blocked but still -not versatile enough for me.

How about a Kor Duelist? Have you ever considered it? I found it can win me a game on turn 3! Provided a very improbable opening hand ofc.
Turn 1: Chrome Mox + anything white and Plains, then Kor Duelist and Sigarda's Aid.
Turn 2: Plains and Sword of Fire and Ice -swing for 10.
Turn 3: swing for 10.
Overmore it's a good piece to draw early of course, but also a good one to draw late game when you most probably already have some equipment on the board.

Also: the Armory Automaton does wonders. It's the most hated and most often discarded/destroyed/exiled card in my deck right now. More than any of the Swords or Umezawa's. I'm really happy having it.

February 14, 2017 8:23 a.m.

Siq6Six says... #16

@Warxuaroz

Kor Duelist isn't half bad, for duel. 20 life goes quick! MP is a different story. Sure, it'll put a dent - and still a good turn one. Not quite the same blowout. However, I haven't even thought about it in a while - since I last considered Quest. Wouldn't be a bad addition, just not sure where. Kinda like Silverblade Paladin. Not a bad card, and better now I'd be more likely to have another creature on board, but finding the slot...

Back to Quest for the Holy Relic. Last I considered that I was only running around 17 creatures. It'd been far too slow & wasn't worth the slot. Still, not entirely sure where it'd go. Tho itd be a great reactive card. Just leave it with 5 counters - if anybody tries to board wipe, remove counters in response & grab Darksteel Plate, or a sword for protection in response to a targetted removal or steal spell.

February 14, 2017 8:51 p.m. Edited.

Warxuaroz says... #17

The responsive use of the Quest is a very good idea! The 5 creature threshold is a little too much for an aggressive use but for responsive purpose is perfect.

Yeah, maybe the Duelist isn't going to be so impactful as in duel, but still a good first turn drop if you lack it.

I recently found I really don't need the Hall of the Bandit Lord and it really slows me down and costs a lot in duel. Last time I used it a lot though having Platinum Angel on the board. I won the game with -57 life! :D

I really am curious about Cathedral of War. How is it working out for you?

February 16, 2017 8:21 a.m.

Siq6Six says... #18

Hall of the Bandit Lord can sometimes suck, when you pay 3 life just so you can equip gear, or cast a wipe. However, when you can slam down Sun Titan, Stoneforge Mystic, Stonehewer Giant outweighs the disadvantage. Also being able to throw out Avacyn or 8.5 (with tax), and immediately attack is nice since we can't always have a set of boots out.

Cathedral of War helps. Just an easy extra buff. Considering this deck is often sending just 1 attacker, it's usually turned on. Also copying it with Thespian's Stage is kinda funny.

I am thinkin about giving Quest a shot tho. Hmmm

February 17, 2017 5:30 p.m.

Warxuaroz says... #19

It does repay you the unconveniences, yes, but it sucks being drawn too early or being the only land you have left to tap for the X mana you need right this second. It will be in my consideration, but I believe it won't come back to the main deck fast.

How is Scroll Rack doing? I am considering this card in my deck as a replacement for Sensei's Divining Top I used to run in MP. Is it worth the cost and the money?

Tell me how the Quest does if you ever use it. I can't play for the next several days and can't playtest enything. Your input will differ I think since it will have to be on the field much more turns than mine.

February 18, 2017 5:36 p.m.

Ted_White_12 says... #20

Wow seems like a very god and cheap budget deck

February 19, 2017 7:38 p.m.

Siq6Six says... #21

@Warxuaroz Scroll Rack is just another tool to attempt to fix your hand. Sometimes it sucks, a lot of the time it can be helpful, even if it's just that ability to shuffle a handful of dead cards a bit deeper. I've also used it to save myself from a game loss after our Zur player Tunnel Vision me, naming a card I had just put back into my library with Mistveil Plains. That game was funny. I actually came back w a vengeance because I had just what I needed to recur stuff from the yard

Think I'm gonna order Quest, as well as Fiend Hunter the more creature based utility, the more likely I'll be able to activate Quest. That and synergy with Eldrazi Displacer is pure gold :) triggering Mentor of the Meek is sweet as well. I just hate the potential return of their creature. Too bad the mass-removal angels are high CMC.

@Ted_White_12 super budget! It's a fun deck. Not amazing. It's not going to blow out any games if the other players don't have their heads up their asses, but it sure as shit can harass some people :)

February 21, 2017 1:21 p.m.

True Conviction seems like the only glaring omission, beautiful deck.

February 21, 2017 8:34 p.m.

Tremendous, believe me. But could use Silverblade Paladin. It's Fireshrieker on a stick, that I can tell you folks.

February 24, 2017 4:53 p.m. Edited.

Siq6Six says... #24

@EternalBrewmaster I've tried it in an early iteration & it's just too hard to get in triple W. It does flow in and out of my radar tho. Right now I'm testing Light from Within, which is just a funny jank card. It's probably not as good as I want it to be, but it's not bad either. I'm not entirely sure how I feel about anthems in this deck.

@Rusty_Shackleford The Paladin is pretty sweet, but has been removed for other cards. It's not totally out of the picture, this deck is always changing & looking for places to do things differently so there's a chance it will find its way back.

Infact, I'm considering trying out Quest for the Holy Relic once again. Previously I had a low creature count. The more impact I can bring via creatures (such as Silverblade Paladin), the more triggers hit Quest, the more viable it becomes. Quest will be a dead card in the deck if it's going to sit there & do nothing for 6-8 turns. It needs to be consistent & fast to be worthwhile. 6-8 turns is bad early game & horrible late game. We've got too many board wipes in my meta & I can't explain the delight those assholes will get watching me tick up to 3 or 4 counters & pass turn so they can blow it up before I get value. Lol.

February 24, 2017 6:28 p.m.

Warxuaroz says... #25

@Siq6Six I need to consider the Rack as well! Hiding the cards you'd have discarded or just putting too much lands for later is a really nice perspective. I just need to find the card in a reasonable price.

True Conviction can be really hard to cast with the cmc itself, not mentioning the triple W. That said. I still believe it gives me more than I need to spend to have it on the board. I guess you could say that I'm a man of true conviction. :)

The Quest looks better than it works, sadly. I've playtested it a bunch of times and never actually got to have any gain. Not even because it was removed, I just never got to play enough creatures. Sadly, it will probably be the first choice to remove if I need to put something in my deck.

Speaking of which, I did some writing on my deck, take a look and tell me what you think, please. :) It needs a little polishing but generally does what it was supposed to do.

@Rusty_Shackleford I used to think the Paladin isn't that great but now that I see how much the double strike really gives me, I did put one in my Fox as well!
