Your wishes come true...
Knowing your next card draw is great. Card draw is great. Putting creatures for free onto the battlefield is great. But what about if you had a chance for all three in one turn without spending mana? Let
Arbiter of the Ideal
be your guide to making all your dreams come true.
UPDATE
-1 Rapid Hybridization, -1 Tromokratis for +2 AEtherling. Added AEtherling description, and important comments from scopesightzx and Slycne. -3 Elite Arcanist +3 Courser of Kruphix. -1 Triton Tactics -3
Oracle's Insight
+2
Springleaf Drum
+2 Prophet of Kruphix. Sideboard: -3 Archeomancer +4
Mistcutter Hydra
-2 Prophet of Kruphix.
As you can guess
Arbiter of the Ideal
is the main player in this deck. Read the card. Like seriously, that's amazing... Even better if you have a Thassa, God of the Sea on board to scry before you untap and trigger Arbiter's ability. And even more amazing if you use
Oracle's Insight
as a tap and draw mechanism so that you dont ever have to risk Arbiter by attacking. ((oracles insight has been replaced with 2x [[springleaf drum for mana ramp and another way to tap
Arbiter of the Ideal
without attacking.))
An important note to point out from scopesightzx: "Also, the interaction you have with Thassa is correct, but you worded it incorrectly. The Arbiter does untap first, but the ability goes on the stack during your upkeep. You would just need to declare that Thassa's scry goes on the stack last so it resolves first."
Now add a bunch of complementary cards:
Kiora's Follower adds mana or Arbiter untap.
AEtherling is the finisher I was looking for. Here is Slycne's comment that fits perfect into the description here; "Tromokratis is much easier to deal with outside of the terrible Theros block limited removal suite. [[Sylvan Primordial certainly gets you value right away, but you may even want to look at something like AEtherling . Getting to put it into play off
Arbiter of the Ideal
means not only can it not be countered, but you'll also typically have all your mana up to protect it and AEtherling can usually close a game out just by itself. Progenitor Mimic also doesn't seem terrible, certainly a surprise since most folks will have forgotten about it.".
Triton Tactics to untap your arbiter or Sylvan Caryatid and help your cards survive Mizzium Mortars while locking down opponents creatures. Simic Charm is awesome in this for its hexproof for all permanents, return endangered or dangerous creature, or pump up to again survive red instants or boost attack power. Rapid Hybridization is a one drop removal of enemy creatures, and Cyclonic Rift renders the 3/3 token useless while returning other annoying permanents to their hand. And as an extra cherry on the cake, Elite Arcanist lets you use all those handy instants over and over again while Kiora's Follower untaps him. ((Elite Arcanist has been switched out for 3x Courser of Kruphix to make use of the land draw, extra toughness as a blocker, and some attack potential.))
Looking to play it at FNM this Friday, so any help would be much appreciated.
