Greed is Good

Kaldheim is here, and with it comes a new mono-red commander that is a blast to play! The idea is to get Magda out early and make treasure as fast as possible to fetch out dragons to dominate the board and start the beatdown.

Making Money

Magda can normally get a few swings in to get treasure started, but that won't last long and we need to tap multiple dwarves to trigger Magda. To this end we run multiple vehicles, Dwarven Bloodboiler, and Kyren Negotiations. We also have a number of ways to tap a single dwarf such as Paradise Mantle, Holdout Settlement, and Survivors' Encampment. Finally we have additional ways to make treasure tokens such as Dockside Extortionist, Pirate's Pillage, and Seize the Spoils to name just a few.

Make it Rain

Once we have a ton of treasure to fuel Magda's activated abilities, we need to find some payoff! I focused on finding dragons since they are thematically more interesting. Our main targets to search out are Utvara Hellkite and Lathliss, Dragon Queen to start making lots of dragons. We also have more dragons for more specific situations such as Siege Dragon to help clear token armies, Knollspine Dragon to help refill our hand, Tyrant's Familiar for targeted removal and Hellkite Tyrant as an alternate win condition.
