Deck Mechanics

• Ghoulcaller Gisa is like a zombie clown car. With cards that let you pull creatures from your graveyard, cheat them onto the battlefield, and benefit from creatures dying such as Grave Pact, Dictate of Erebos, Blood Artist, and Deathrender, sacrificing creatures with her ability is no big deal.

• With Thornbite Staff you can activate Ghoulcaller Gisa's ability many times per turn--basically, as long as you have a black mana you can spend, you can pump out more zombies with Gisa! Thornbite Staff also combos beautifully with Hell's Caretaker and Avatar of Woe.

• Mimic Vat is just an all-around awesome artifact that brings back big guys like It That Betrays, Scion of Darkness, to attack later on, or to sacrifice with Ghoulcaller Gisa. Not to mention that it can be imprinted with anyone's creatures--not just your own!

• Gempalm Polluter , Lord of the Undead , and Unholy Grotto are made for each other. Cycle Gempalm Polluter , draw a card, and stick Gempalm back on top of your library with Unholy Grotto . Rinse and repeat each turn, or put Gempalm Polluter back in your hand with Lord of the Undead . With any luck, you can cycle Gempalm Polluter up to three times per turn.

• It's not uncommon to be able to add 40+ mana to your pool with Cabal Coffers, Vesuva and Crypt Ghast, making Exsanguinate and Diabolic Revelation extremely powerful spells that can be kept from countering by Boseiju, Who Shelters All.

• Buried Alive works with Reanimate, Rise of the Dark Realms and Beacon of Unrest to get the creatures you want onto the battlefield, or Lord of the Undead to get them in your hand. It's great for putting Gravecrawler, Bloodghast, and Filth into your graveyard.
