I made this deck around the Manabarbs card because I had a bunch of them and thought they were totally useless. This deck uses the Chimeric Idol + Citadel of Pain + Manabarbs combination to make your opponents lands kill them while you sit back and stay alive with protection from Bubble Matrix + Pariah's Shield + Portcullis . The Chimeric Idol can tap your lands without using them for mana, and it can also become a creature whenever someone tries to bring a creature into play. because it is an artifact it can get around my portcullis and is fairly safe from creature kill spells. This deck is pretty fun, but with mana burn not being real anymore i realize that the deck is now obsolete. However, I still think of it as one of my more elegant builds using cards that do not seem very useful on first inspection.
