Sideboard

Wizards has obviously put a lot of effort into making minotaurs a thing in Theros and BNG so here is my take on a standard legal, Semi-budget minotaur aggro.

Mana Base:This is a fairly traditional mono red aggro in concept with some black splashed for removal, Ragemonger , and Kragma Warcaller . As such, I am fairly confident running the temples, some basics and 2 Guildgates. However, hitting our colors can be helped by adding in 4 Blood Crypt instead of the temples and replacing the guildgates with 2 Temple of Malice.

Creatures:Obviously, all minotaurs but with some notable MVPs.

Rageblood Shaman: This guy makes all our guys bigger and comes with built in trample. As a 3-drop, getting a coupe of these guys hasty late-game with a Madcap Skills can be devastating.

Ragemonger : Makes all of our minotaurs cheaper to play. A lot of our guys are double red cost, so the benefit of this guy is yet to be seen, but once again, having a second copy out can really catapult our damage output.

Oracle of Bones: A questionable inclusion, but haste on a 5/2 for 4 (possibly less, see above) that makes our opponents question if they can afford for us to Dreadbore their big threat is a lot of fun. at the very least we are getting to hit them for 2 damage and a scry from Magma Jet.

Kragma Butcher Becomes a lot better if he has haste from a Hammer of Purphoros or Kragma Warcaller . Stacking his inspired ability with the pump from the warcaller and or Rageblood Shaman is pretty sweet also.

Other Spells:A fairly traditional accouterment of Hammers, Madcap Skills, Magma Jets, and Dreadbore allows us to hit their annoying blockers, kill their big threats, and make their lives miserable.

Searing Blood is a good combat trick to use on little and small blockers alike. sort of like a pseudo trample.

Sideboard: Bile Blight - kills all kinds of tokens, even if they've been pumped by a Spear of Heliod \nDevour Flesh - hits hexproof or guys with protectionRakdos's Return - potentially good late game if you are mana swamped and need to seal the dealAnger of the Gods - good cardRead the Bones - can also be beneficial in grindy games to let you hit more of the spells you want.

Deck plays alright, I am still messing with it, so any feedback is welcome, thanks.

Played a match against a kid running a real budget mill deck. 2-0 Game 1: turn 1 and 2 we traded lands and he enchanted my Temple of Malice with Chronic Flooding, in his mind effectively setting me back a turn. Little did he know I had everything I needed to beat him down in my hand already. Got a Rageblood Shaman out, madcapped him up and passed. Pilfered Plans. I then dropped a Ragemonger, a Kragma Warcaller, and swung in for 11. He brought out a guy, realized I could trample over him, and scooped.

Game 2: I missed my 4th land, playing a Magma Jet on turn 2, seeing 2 big creatures and shipping them, just to draw an oracle of bones. I then just played a Hammer of Purphoros and passed. In the meantime he milled me some more and brought out Wight of Precinct Six. I played a Kragma Butcher just to have him put Death's Approach on it. making it a 0/1. I was stuck on all mountains with 2 Dreadbore in hand while he ciphered Paranoid Delusions on his wight, making the little bugger bigger with each swing. I finally hit another land, played Oracle of Bones, he didn't pay tribute, dreadbore his Wight of Precinct Six, and he scooped next turn.

All in all I am very impressed with the deck's ability to "go off" within 1 or 2 turns. Madcp skills is definitely an MVP here as it makes my guys unblockable to an opponent's underdeveloped board and makes an already big Man-bull bigger.

I went ahead and evened the land count to 9 mountain, 9 swamp, 4 temples and 2 guildgates just to smooth out my potential need for more black sources. Finally, I added 1 Minotaur Aggressor just because he's a big guy.
