Just a couple of questions, not meant to offend, just general curiosity.

First, are you even allowed to play Marsh Flats and Scalding Tarn ? I know they don't have the mana cost but since they are considered black and blue permanents, that don't match the commander colours, I would think that they couldn't be played.

Second, Is there any theme to the deck other than just play a metric ass ton of creatures? I personally would think that a deck should have some general synergy, like what I have seen people do with Marath is to just get tons of +1/+1 counters on him and then just use him as a filter to put creatures into play, burn other players or power up other creatures.

@goliath678, you can use those two lands, because they are colorless, lands don't have colors, and since Scalding Tarn doesn't say Tap to add a R or U, commander doesn't care. He is just using them to filter to the Plains or the Mountain. They are kind of wasted maybe Riftstone Portal would be better than one of them, because that lets all your lands tap for a White or Green as well.

Other things I think would be funny Glory , Shaman en-Kor , and I like Stonehewer Giant more than Stoneforge Mystic . I know the Mystic is cheaper, the giant lets you Tutor.

Well the thing is that I do not play a Token Marath, if I did I'd have put doubling season and whatnot that boost it. I play Marath as a pure Burn, for creatures and players in front of it. It is mostly the only use I do of him. I sometimes use the token effect, but only to use it with birthing pod to fetch an elf or whatnot. But your marath can be as big as you want, I have cards that can remove it quite quickly. The Stonehewer Giant is really good, I just don't have him. But I can blink the Stoneforge Mystic, after all I only have 4 equipements in my deck, I don't think he'll be that useful anyway. But thanks for the feedback.

They are a fairly cheap card. I would check your LGS's for them

I do not order on the Internet, I only get them with a face to face meeting or exchanges.

Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker I did couple of playtest and it seems to be greatest danger - I have never got enough mana to cast it (or I have just been ghost-killing turn <10 )

Ashnod's Altar and Cathars' Crusade allows for infinite mana and tokens shenanigans with Marath

Just changed a few cards amongst the Oracle of Mul Daya, and Brimaz, wich is an awesome card, especially coupled with Purphoros. Kikki-Jiki is a really handful card, coupled with Zealous or Restoration angel it is an infinite win combo, with Lotus cobra it gives me a LOT MORE mana, with acidic slime it destroys one land per turn at least, with mother of runes it protects one more creature at least, well it does practically anything. Now one of the biggest problem is for my manabase, because the prices of the fetchlands has gone so high that it has gone beyond my budget.

Cathars' Crusade is a great card here not only because of the mass amounts of creatures but also because of immense synergy with Marath's last ability

I'm going to try out Terastodon for a while, see if it is useful.

I've been seeing this "French EDH" thing around for a while, and I must say I like the set up for obvious reasons. My only complaint is that it is set up to play 1v1. Given what I've read all my EDH decks are pretty much legal and the only thing I would change is putting Griselbrand the Grizzly-Banned in my Phage deck I See A Red Door.... That being said I believe a decent Sliver deck could/should still do well.

What was your reason behind removing Vexing Shusher ? The number one concern for all 1v1 EDH decks will be Geist of Saint Traft decks. Other than Cavern of Souls , and getting equipment past counter spells with Stoneforge Mystic , you're not running much protection.

I needed room for lands (I had 37 at a time and it is too few) and started acquirering quite a few good creatures and thought that it had to go. No other reasons. But you're right I should make room to put it back.

updated the deck a little with the m15 cards. Yisan, the Wanderer Bard is pretty much a swiss army knife, and Reclamation Sage is just better the the Harmonic Sliver , in every way. Since i got three of them, figured i'd put a Council's Judgment because it's good, and I'm also trying Sarkhan Vol in there.

I'm thinking of including a Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite , any advices on what i should cut out?

I found your deck when I first joined tappedout and it's still probably my favorite I've found. I've played a bit of duel commander and so I'm able to recognize the leanness of this list. However, I'll still offer a few suggestions based on my experience of a few high-profile decks like Azami, Lady of Scrolls and Geist of Saint Traft .

I think your deck is a little short on removal. Swords to Plowshares and Path to Exile are excellent and probably never dead. But if you're worried about facing something with a low creature count, I would recommend Beast Within as it hits everything. Condemn is also invaluable vs voltron builds (which appear to be a huge thing in duel commander). However, it could be dead and as such I would put it in the sideboard... which is something this list lacks! I know your commander is a great way to kill creatures, and that's probably why you've elected to run less removal spells, but I still think you could get away with running a few. I also really like Ulvenwald Tracker ... which I believe you ran in an earlier list. Why did you decide to cut it? In my opinion you could swap Nightshade Peddler for the tracker since they essentially do the same thing: kill opposing creatures. Another big-ticket option is Gruul Ragebeast . He costs a lot but he's sooo powerful.

I see that you have the SpikeFeeder and Archangel of Thune combo... but I don't know if SpikeFeeder is useful enough outside that combo. I think you could easily swap it for Genesis in terms of sheer utility. Speaking of utility creatures, why did you cut mom?!?!

The only weakness I see is a lack of card draw. What about Sword of Fire and Ice ?

September 4, 2014 1:44 p.m.

So point to point.

Path to Exile I cut it a few months back and am considering taking it back because yes, i lack creature removal. Flame Slash is also in my consideration list

and why Nightshade Peddler ? Because it just does more. Ulvenwald Tracker , while good, has to wait to activate his ability, i have to target one of my creatures to possibly die etc, while peddler just says, meh, come in play, soulbond marath, 1 mana 1 kill. Just better

Gruul Ragebeast is, in my opinion, just a really, reallly, really bad card. Not only is it expensive, but its effect is mandatory. If it was, "you can", i'd consider (but for his cost Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite is better) but now, no.

Spike Feeder can also help me boost a creature for free, and coupled with the Archangel of Thune it helps me have infinite life and creature that kill instantly.

Genesis is in itself useless in my opinion, wich is why i've never incorporated it.

As for Swords, i'm short of them because i had to bleed my binder open to get a Linvala, Keeper of Silence .

Still, because I love this deck i fear that the commity might ban it in the next ban-session, because they have been banning 2013 commanders one after the other. I will stop commander if that happens.
