Queen Marchesa, Long May She Reign! I saw Cruel Reality 's throwback to curses, and knew it had to be done. Curse my opponent with misfortunes as soon as possible and then pillowfort until death. Even without Cruel Reality , Curse of Shallow Graves and Curse of Stalked Prey make Marchesa and her assassins a hazardous attacking force. The biggest problem so far that I've experienced is counter-magic, so Red Elemental Blast and Curse of Marit Lage are in there to help deal with that a little, and if my opponent doesn't use blue, Curse of Chaos them away. If I get Curse of Misfortunes into play, then Curse of Exhaustion or Cruel Reality comes next, generally followed by Curse of Thirst and Curse of Bloodletting . If I can't get any curses off, then I control the field through wipes, deathtouch, and hate.
