Synergy in its purest form. New combos are discovered almost every time I play the deck.

I started building a Marchesa deck when Conspiracy was released. At the time it was a durdly deck that abused Modular, Unleash, Persist, and Undying with sac outlets. It has slowly evolved into an extremely fun and synergistic deck that I often play if someone at the table has a new deck they want to try out, or if someone needs to be humbled ;) (Im looking at all the crazy competitive decks in the format)

So let's break the deck down. There are dozens of engines in the deck that will get you extreme value if left unchecked. The basic formula is a creature with an ETB effect (ala Solemn Simulacrum or Baleful Strix) a Sac Outlet (the altars) and a way to recur them Marchesa being the main one. Other recursion effects can be found in Mikaeus, Cauldron of Souls, and Phyrexian Reclamation. If no one interrupts or removes your engine you can win through any boardstate. The longer the game, the better your chance of winning. Games are won via combat damage usually, but there are several infinite combos.

Mikaeus + Triskelion = Infinite Damage

Marchesa + Sac Outlet + Flayer of the Hatebound= tons of damage every turn

Kiki-Jiki + Zealous Conscripts = all of the creatures
