Marchesa thief revolves around wizard creature subtype, combat damage, counters, and reanimation with Marchesa's card text stating, "Whenever a creature you control with a +1/+1 counter on it dies, return to the battlefield under your control at the beginning of the next end step." Instants, Sorceresses, and (potentially) activated abilities are to gain control of target/each opponents' creatures, place +1/+1 counters on those creatures (mostly with dethrone), and then to sac them into sac outlets as card/ability costs which lessens my opponent's board state, allows me to take advantage of that, and potentially increase my board state if these stolen creatures have +1/+1 counters. A creatures ETB and ETG effects are usually utilized as well as any other effects the creature may have. Praise the mfing queen.

3/10/19- The mechanics' objective is to steal creatures, place +1/+1 counters on them, and sac them with already present (ideally free and available for 1 or more sacs) sac outlets with Marchesa on the board to maintain permanent control over creatures. The worst case scenario would be to use sac outlets that require mana, tapping, and multiple creatures while Marchesa remains in the command zone; to still exploit the most of the situation, token generating cards can be used to compensate for sac costs for more than 1 or 2 creatures, gaining control of creatures to sac still removes creature-board presence with the sac's additional bonus.
