Why Marchesa, the Black Rose?

The synergies of vampires auto +1/+1 counters work hand in hand as Marchesa's ability to bring them back. This ability offers strong natural card advantage making the naturally aggressive madness strategy strong. Also, the vampire's side theme of taking control of opponents creatures reflects Marchesa's more common build around as she then helps you keep tem. Lastly, there are a few powerful ETB vampires that gives this a flavourful toolbox feel.

With all of these natural cross overs, I have one question for WoTC... How is Marchesa not a vampire?!

Synergies

There's a good amount in here. This deck has changed a lot on paper and I just now updated the deck list here, so I just removed a bunch of the content that is now irrelevant. Will update soon.

Drain for Game Kalastria Highborn + Phyrexian Altar and any auto +1/+1 counter appliers such as Cordial Vampire or Metallic Mimic could be a nice alternate way to drain everyone when an army of vampires and Marchesa are out. This could be extra strong with Sanguine Bond, though that and Exquisite Blood are on the back burner for now.

Just like the above idea, with enough vampires on the battlefield to capitalize off Marchesa's ability, something like Malakir Bloodwitch (or Bishop of the Bloodstained) could help close a game. I could do it every players turn if Cordial Vampire or Metallic Mimic are out. There's other fantastic toolboxes using this sequence, such as Champion of Dusk for card draw, Bloodline Necromancer for recursion, Patron of the Vein for removal, or Captivating Vampire for taking creatures (if I refresh multiple vampires with Marchesa's ability).
