Mardu Lockdown - GW Devotion Answer?

Standard Competitive Control RBW (Mardu)

rafaelnaletto

Sideboard

The whole idea is to catch your opponent unprepared. Everybody is waiting for a Sultai, UB, WB or Abzan control.

Mardu in control is a thing, it has removals, it has disruption and it has burn! What makes the whole difference against other controls that just disables your options and then drop a hexproof bomb.

The strategy:

Just like any other control, you'll have to respond to every move of your opponent, the main difference in Mardu Control is that you have other ways to bring his life down while responding to his threads.

The key points: GODS

Heliod, God of the Sun

Mogis, God of Slaughter

Purphoros, God of the Forge

The sinergy between Purphoros, God of the Forge and Heliod, God of the Sun is awesome, we're talking about mid/late game here, once you disabled your opponent options, you can bring these two to the battlefield and start making tokens. They both have indestructible, so, they can survive most board wipes, including yours.

Mogis, God of Slaughter is a optional Crackling Doom on his upkeep every turn, and it has indestructible too, there's no need to explain again, right? Everybody knows what means to sacrifice a creature? It means that not even those hexproof mother*s can survive, Mogis allied with Crackling Doom is the representation of slaughter itself!

Sorin, Solemn Visitor is here to make more tokens and do more damage to your opponent.

Elspeth, Sun's Champion can deal with Siege Rhino, Tasigur, the Golden Fang and Gurmag Angler, and also make more tokens!

As for the Sideboard, i've tried to make it a burn option, the mirror or the archetype mirror tends to be pretty frustrating, so, if you can end it faster, the better!

Erebos, God of the Dead prevents your opponent from gaining life, every burn player knows how frustrating is to play against lifegain decks.

And that's all, folks, i hope you enjoy it, and if you have any suggestion, feel free to tell, please.
