This deck thrives in the late game with burn and kill spells to get it there. Ultimately turns 1-4(5) involve maintaining a less threatening if not clear opponent board state. Then around turn 5-6 playing a planeswalker that can wipe out whats remaining from the opponent board and bam, you have a planeswalker out and are ready to maintain control unto the late game. The replacing of blue in Esper control for red allows for faster games with the actually more control. Also cheaper without Jace.

Reasons for Cards:Kozilek, the Great Distortion: Kozilek can be an easy 10 damage with Sorin, Grim Nemesis +1 ability and can also be brought out with Nahiri, Harbinger ultimate. This deck also gets into the late game in which just hard casting him is great. At that point he's a 12/12 menace that draws you cards and lets you counter.

Dragonlord Kolaghan: Kolaghan second ability is the reason why she's in here. In the early game you're killing off your opponent's creatures therefore filling up their graveyards with different creatures. Kolaghan makes sure that same name creatures aren't cast furthering your control over the game.

Replaceables (if so desire):Nahiri can be replaced with any other planeswalker already in the deck. Kozilek can be a Dark-Dweller instead. To the Slaughter can be another kill or burn spell instead. Blighted Fen can be another man land instead.
