This is my Midrange-Burn Mardu deck. The goal is to use high value creatures, burn, and removal to have a good mix of speed and grindyness.
I have been working with this deck for a few months now and I feel it is at a pretty good spot. Feedback and suggestions are always welcome.
Creatures
Dark Confidant Card draw on a stick. This deck makes great use of bob due to its low cost spells and lifegain.
Soulfire Grand Master This card has 2 main roles. 1. It gives use a large amount of lifegain to make shocks and bob less painful. 2. This card also gives us more card advantage. It only takes 5 mana to start being able to buy back bolts, paths and thoughtseize.
Butcher of the Horde
This card is not the perfect finisher, but it does a great job. It only costs 4, it always has flying, and it can get haste and lifelink. If this guy sticks he ends games pretty quickly. Also great at stopping creatures with lifelink since you can sack the blocker after it is declared.
Spells
Lightning Bolt and Lightning Helix our main burn. combine these with soulfire and it helps maintain a good life total to let you shock and thoughtseize at will. 3 damage and 6 life gained for 2 is pretty sweet too.
Path to Exile and Terminate Classic efficient Mardu removal.
Crackling Doom Nice part about this card is even if they have no creatures it can do some damage. It can also be back breaking against bogles, infect, and decks with spellskite or Emrakul.
Kolaghan's Command All of these modes are relevant for this deck. Also pretty sweet when you get to magical Christmas land and get to buyback with soulfire to make your opponent discard their topdeck every turn.
Thoughtseize I just run thoughtseize since it can grab anything and this deck has plenty of life gain.
Lingering Souls Hard to argue against using this card when you have black and white. Great for chumping, card advantage, and sacking to Lilly or the Butcher.
