Sideboard

Maybeboard

Hi!

In this exciting phase before the post-Origins metagame is set in stone, I see this deck as an up and comer that adapts Mardu Dragons to the new Standard. It also displays one of the most powerful and flexible new cards: Hangarback Walker. Sacking a Hangarback Walker into Butcher of the Horde looks too good to pass up.

Thanks in advance for any playtesting feedback and +1's!

Dragons: Mardu is home to some of the most poweful in Standard and they all have aggressive or defensive synergies.

Burn: Plenty of pure burn in Draconic Roar and Exquisite Firecraft, with Crackling Doom and Kolaghan's Command filling out the curve and triggering prowess.

Sideboard: Against control, Monastery Swiftspear and Titan's Strength come in for Foul-Tongue Invocation and Murderous Cut. Pyromancer's Goggles and Crater's Claws can swap in for Draconic Roar .

Mana Curve/Tweaking: The deck is on the cusp of aggro, but probably falls more in midrange. The mana curve is an issue open for tweaking, and I am interest in particular in adding Soulfire Grand Master.

Magic Origins: Duress is your natural defense against Languish and your top creatures are protected by beefy toughness or indestructible (via Valorous Stance or Butcher of the Horde. This deck also tries out Abbot of Keral Keep for some card advantage instead of Outpost Siege in sideboard.

This deck is rotation-proof.

Theros block users can swap in Thoughtseize instead of Duress, Stormbreath Dragon instead of the Sarkhan & friends, and add Hero's Downfall to the sideboard.

Thanks for looking!
