Edgar Markov, the founder and very first of the bloodline in Innistrad. He performed alchemy and other experiments in attempts of creating the solution for immortality and eventually found it in the exsanguination of the angel Marycz. After the solution was found and he turned himself into a vampire, he turned his grandson, Sorin, into a vampire in hopes of sharing his gift to him. Sorin's transformation induced so much trauma to him that it ignited his planeswalker spark and fled from his Grandfather and the rest of the fledging Markov clan.

In recent expansions, the Eldrazi from Zendikar invaded Innistrad with the help of Nahiri the Lithomancer, Nahiri went by herself to find Sorin in his realm and destroy everything relating to the Markov bloodline along the way. Edgar was reported to be killed in the attack, but was never found. A mystery that WoTC has not yet clarified.

Lore aside, this deck is made to be aggro and have elements of creature control in its abilities thanks to such creatures and spells like Olivia Voldaren, Captivating Vampire, and the newest vampire tribal spell New Blood.

Along with the control strategy, there is lots of tokens that are created from Edgar's eminence ability and other creatures that exist in the deck and as well banner effects that range from "Enter the battlefield", Until end of turn", and "Creatures you control have +,+.

To support the amount of mana needed to cast these cards the deck has the combo of Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth and Cabal Coffers. There is also the helpful and powerful land Deserted Temple to untap lands that provide extra mana or different effects from other activation abilities of lands you control. I added Dark Depths to the deck for the lulz, but also to add as an additional form of aggro and combo if you manage to obtain the god hand required to pull it off.

In terms of card draw and tutoring, the deck sports the 3 old and powerful tutors; Demonic, Enlightened, and of course Vampiric tutor (because flavor is the most important thing other than the card's effect). There is also Forerunner of the Legion from Rivals of Ixalan that not only tutors for the Vampire you need, but also provides a creature with a buff until end of turn. The other tutor that is in this deck is the card Expedition Map which is not only full of flavor for the Ixalan block vampires, but a convenient and effective way to search for a land you need to help you in the future with fixing, or to set up for a major mana advantage.

For the card draw there is Lorekeeper's stone, a handy artifact that lets you draw 3 cards for the cost of 3 mana plus the amount of cards in your hand. If you do not have any cards in hand, this card can mean all the difference in changing the tides of the game in your favor (just don't use it for more than 5 to draw 3, as it's a waste of resources). The other cards are all from the Ixalan block, starting with Vanquisher's Banner, a tribal artifact for a meager cost of 5 colorless mana that gives your desired tribe +1,+1 and draws you cards upon casting those specified creatures. The next good one is a vampire called Twilight Prophet, an upgrade to the powerful card Dark Confidant in exchange for a higher casting cost. Twilight Prophet draws you an extra card if you fulfil the condition of Ascend, and steals life from ALL opponents based on the card's converted mana cost. Finally there is The Immortal Sun, a rare and powerful artifact that not only shuts down planeswalkers, but also reduces your cost of spells you cast, draws you an extra card at the draw step, and gives all your creatures +1,+1 for 6 colorless mana! Not only super flavorful, but also very helpful in dealing with multiple problems at the same time!

The deck also supports lots of the staple "rocks" such as Sol ring, and the 3 signets from Ravnica and more expensive ones (which is based on decklist and can be swapped or added for something more budget) like Mana Crypt, or Mox Diamond.

The landbase possesses the 3 shock lands, 2 check lands, 3 bounce lands, a bunch of utility lands, and of course basic lands.

I'm open to suggestions and ideas for cards that would be very useful in my deck and appreciate any feedback given. Hope you enjoy it and leave me an upvote if you think it is a great deck.
