I am game for either a B/W built around Blood Baron of Vizkopa , or a re-animator, whatever the vote goes to
September 24, 2013 10 p.m.
I think im leaning towards a reanimator of sorts.....

Replayced, your idea, take a vote bro :)
don't want to pirate your thread here

I'm up for both. But leaning towards bug reanimator
September 24, 2013 10:03 p.m.
well, so BUG reanimator; first we need our reanimate cards.....

Well Whip of Erebos and Rescue from the Underworld are the two main in those colors
September 24, 2013 10:12 p.m.
Added those 2. No vote needed. They are necessary.

So ive been looking, and we have to make the 5 mana spent on rescue to be worth it; as opposed to hard casting for 7. SO, that probably means the creature we are sacrificing should have leave and enter the battlefield affects, as well as the creature we are reanimating.......SO with the information i think we should include ashen rider for sure....

okay, if anyone does not know how to link cards And around each card, will let you hover over it so everyone can see it and vote on it.
Given that Ashen Rider has a great ETB effect, but his second effect states he has to die in order for it to trigger, does that makes him less of a re-animator, or as a hard cast only card?
Also, what do we think of the temples for Scry effect? Temple of Deceit and Temple of Silence

So if Ashen Rider is a re-animator target, he should definitely be cast with Rescue from the Underworld vs Whip of Erebos , due to the ruling of him needing to die.
Also, does Strionic Resonator have a place here?

You need Lifebane Zombie for a deck with the whip, it gives an extra trigger, and the intimidate haste will likely smack the opponent for 3...

I would say Lifebane Zombie is an excellent SB card due to it's removal conditionalism, but that's just my vote, others?
September 24, 2013 10:36 p.m.
The only problem with that isaac418 is then we'd be splashing a 4th color. If we make a focus on black, Abhorrent Overlord might be a good one to sac if we let the deck run a little slower. Clone would be amazing to sac, not only do you get your creature back, but you get to clone something different. Deadbridge Chant can accelerate end game reanimation. Gray Merchant of Asphodel would also be good if we focus on black. Lifebane Zombie can get rid of potential stompy creatures. Mogis's Marauder can be a game ender. Nylea's Disciple gives recurring lifegain through reanimation. Pharika's Mender is something I strongly suggest.

Also, maybe Lotleth Troll and Jarad's Orders to get some creatures to the grave.

I would say Thassa, God of the Sea is an excellent start for building as well, to throw heavy damage downrange right off the bat
September 24, 2013 10:38 p.m.
If you mean using her for her unblockable part, ShadowLand, then I agree. The constant Scry is awesome too.

Whoa . . . let's stick to one card a time here folks, got to vote on something here eventually. Also acbooster if we take Beetalls suggestion and use Lotleth Troll , we never have to cast Ashen Rider , we can simply discard him to feed the troll and then re-animate him at will.

And yes, that's what I was going for, free Scry and the ability to make our creatures not able to be blocked is excellent power. If we look at Prime Speaker Zegana for re-filling our hand and a sac outlet as well
September 24, 2013 10:42 p.m.
Hey I just went through and searched all creatures post rotation with enter or leave the battlefield effects and picked out some good ones. I never go one at a time, it seems inefficient to me. For me, brainstorming involves introducing a lot of ideas, then narrowing them down to the refined plan.
I'm still against the rider though, I always like to have the ability to play all the cards in my deck if the easy way is taken out by something like Detention Sphere or Slaughter Games .
September 24, 2013 10:43 p.m.
I tend to agree about the rider right now. I like to be able hard cast anything in the deck. I also feel the speaker and troll should be in. We will vote on speaker and troll first.

You can just link it isaac418 like this BUG Midrange , and sure will check it out, feel free to check out any of my decks as well, did a BUG reanimator here recently. Also, if we get something original going here, I will link it on my MTG blog and feature it as a TO brew.
