Commander: Endrek Sahr, Master Breeder

After an attempt at a sac effects deck with the Shattergang Brothers, I found this guy and immediately decided that built-in token production is really good in the kind of stax that I wanted to play with. This is kind of a prototype list, but as I play it more I will tune and update it it a bit.

This deck's goal is to keep the board clear with stax effects fueled by constant token production.

This deck focuses on first of all ramping into the man himself, preferably on turn 3 or 4. Getting an early Sol Ring or Thran Dynamo really helps this, as does a Cabal Coffers. I considered Lake of the Dead, which would certainly be powerful early game, but I feel like it would cripple the late game, where this deck really shines.

Casting big creatures is pretty important, because they'll be your main win condition while you keep the board clear with your Smokestacks, Call to the Grave, etc. They also provide a near-unending source of fodder for your sac outlets like Ashnod's Altar, Phyrexian Altar, and Fallen Angel.

The ultimate game plan is to completely destroy your opponent's board with Smokestacks, It That Betrays, Stronghold Assassin, and Grave Pact, among others. You can keep them hand-less with Sadistic Hypnotist, ensuring your dominant position's stability.

Conspiracy is absolutely fantastic in this deck; name Zombie and your Call to the Grave is a one-sided Smokestacks. Name Brushwagg and, well, I dunno, do stuff. The most important thing this card does is to prevent your tokens from killing your commander.

If the stax doesn't work out, you can always sac 5-6 thrulls to Ashnod's Altar and drop an eldrazi.

Also, fun fact about Tar Fiend; because Endrek's thrull trigger resolves first, you can devour all those thrulls and get a little bit of hand discard going, plus a huge beater.

Updates Add

-1 Increasing Ambition

-1 Triskelion

-1 Phyrexian Reclamation

+1 Ritual of the Machine

+1 Soul Exchange

+1 Necropotence

First of all, I removed Increasing Ambition because I already have a few tutors and that one is pretty expensive, mana wise. Trike is gone because without Mikaeus out, it's essentally useless. Phyrexian Reclamation has also been obsoleted by Soul Exchange at this point.

I added in Soul Exchange and Ritual of the Machine because holy shit; sacrificing a thrull to recur a creature with no downsides? The +2+2 is just the icing on the cake. Same goes for Ritual of the Machine; casting a creature and sacrificing the thrulls it makes to this to gain control of the biggest threat on the board is amazing. Necropotence is in there now because who doesn't like a full hand every end step?
