Hm, I don't know about that
More artifacts is always nice, but I don't know if Dragon Throne of Tarkir will fit in this deck. The go-to target is ofc Juggernaut, Scuttling Doom Engine, and Ensoul-ed artifact. But it would not help much in this deck.
I need more consideration before putting this in

I suggest removing the 4xDissolve as they require 2 blue mana, and cost 3, many times you will find yourself lacking 2 blue mana when you need it for Dissolve. My recommendation to replace them would be 4xStubborn Denial. If you're countering a spell, it's likely to be a removal spell targetting your 5/5 Ornithopter or 5/5 Darksteel Citadel, cause you've not really got anything else worth protecting. Stubborn Denial gets the majority of your countering needs covered (including game changing spells like planeswalkers or Whip of Erebos or Jeskai Ascendancy) for a measly one mana! It's seriously amazing in this deck.
My other recommendation is to take out 1 Scuttling Doom Engine and add in 1 more Ghostfire Blade.
If you're looking at sideboard options, my sideboard for this deck includes Shatter, Negate, Anger of the Gods, Tormod's Crypt (Never actually used this though)

In regards to what I said about Scuttling Doom Engine and Ghostfire Blade, the reason is that you want to be more likely to have multiples in hand of the Blade than you do of the 6 cost creature.

Advice noted and taken
I mainly use Dissolve as a go-to counterspell since it could helps my draw, but as you said, Stubborn Denial is better in this deck
Thanks for the input

I would like to see Generator Servant over Opaline Unicorn. Giving haste to either Scuttling Doom Engine or even Juggernaut is borderline broken.

Generator Servant IS a better option, thanks
and you know what, FRF brings a similar and interesting card that I can use, Renowned Weaponsmith!! Just gotta see what that Vial gonna do
Man I can't wait till prerelease this weekend XD

I have a pretty similar deck: Izzet Artifact: Juggernaut is the Third Wheel. I'm not sure if you've had this issue, but for me Chief Engineer never really ramped any further than 1-2 mana, and he always seemed to force me to tap down a big Ensoul'd Ornithopter to use him effectively. Instead, I switched him out for a playset of Renowned Weaponsmith to get about the same amount of ramp without tapping. Maybe this problem has come up with your deck as well?

Shivan Reef seems like a must for this deck; colors when you need them, and colorless for when you don't.

@Klipeda yes, I've been pondering over the two, and Renowned Weaponsmith seems more stable. And yes, Chief Engineer is kinda slow since it need a somewhat packed field :P
@Centaureayl Shivan Reef is indeed a better choice. I'm not putting it yet since I'm still looking for it IRL

Is it okay to swap-out the play-set of Temple of Epiphany for a play-set of Shivan Reef just wondering

I'd rather swap out Swiftwater Cliffs than Temple of Epiphany for the Shivan Reef(which i just did), since I think a scry is better than a measly 1 life. But maybe you got a different view?
March 3, 2015 11:20 p.m.
The point was to not to get Temple of Epiphany's, I think they will only fall in price and was wondering if it's still playable

Sorry, but I honestly don't understand what you are trying to say. Can you elaborate further?
March 4, 2015 6:34 p.m.
I don't want to buy or trade for a playset of Temple of Epiphany because I think from here till Theros block rotates it will only fall in value since it's not used in any major decks in any formats other than standard and because i'm a major modern player I don't want to deal with rotation for a while, but there are some people who play standard more casually and would like for me to play with them. I was wondering if it would still be an okay deck with Shivan Reef.

Damnit how could I missed that -_-a
I understand you doesn't want to use cards that's gonna rotate out, and it's fine if you want to replace them, since the mana cost-to-color ratio should still be the same.

I would personally replace Juggernaut with Illusory Angel
March 9, 2015 6:56 a.m.
magnetcrocodile says... #22
Most of the time, Illusory Angel is better than Juggernaut, but in this deck I think Juggernaut is better and synergizes better with the deck. Three main reason:
I can cast it as early as turn 3 if I got an early Renowned Weaponsmith
Shrapnel Blast target for that ending point
Also because it's colorless, I can target it with Ghostfire Blade for just mana
One thing though, I'm waiting for the rumored "Vial of Dragonfire", which may replace Ghostfire Blade, thus making Illusory Angel more viable. But for now, I prefer Juggernaut
Thanks for the suggestion tho, HyperSloth

Ideas:
-Might not want 4 Ornithopters, if you keep drawing them you can screw yourself. They are nice for flying blocks and targets for Ensoul Artifact but once you don't need them anymore you don't want to draw them
-Consider Chandra, Pyromaster. Getting Shrapnel Blast (maybe Temur Battle Rage, too) with her ultimate is a win con (plus her first ability is great with your fatties), maybe remove 1 or 2 Crater's Claws if you use her since the X will count as 0 with her
-I am not super impressed with Ghostfire Blade as a card in general, maybe consider removing 1 or 2 of them with some other of the stuff I mentioned for plain old Lightning Strikes?
-It looks like you rely on being able to ramp up to your fatties and give them double strike and/or burn in the meantime, if that is the case you might want to consider mainboarding the Treasure Cruises and/or Dig Through Time

Oh yeah also since you are trying to get a lot of mana from your creatures you might as well remove a Renowned Weaponsmith and something else (or 2?) and mainboard 1 or 2 Chief Engineers, you will get more mana out of your creatures that way

That's a lot of suggestion. Here's my reason:
4 Ornithopter is for synergy, since early game I can use it with Ensoul Artifact or make it fatter by equipping Ghostfire Blade. And yes, late game it can be a dead draw, but at least I still got Shrapnel Blast to get value from it
Chandra, Pyromaster is interesting, might wanna do some playtesting with it
Ghostfire Blade make my Ornithopter and other artifact creature fatter, also can be targeted by yer olde Ensoul Artifact and Shrapnel Blast
Before FRF, I've been using Chief Engineer in this deck. But he's too slow and too situational since I need a lot of creature to really make use of him. With Renowned Weaponsmith you just drop him turn two and doesn't really need anything more.
Thanks for the input though, Nirc. Quite insightful

You should think about adding a couple Dragon Throne of Tarkir
