@ispeakthefalse: It's a 5/5 Indestructible powerhouse if combined with Ensoul Artifact

@magnetcrocodile: Ah! I see! I totally forgot that you could use Ensoul Artifact on it. Thanks!

No probs. If you have any other question/recommendation for the deck, ask away!

I'm running a similar build, I like the Temur Battle Rage idea. I think I will try that out.

Thanks Bolten711. It's funny when they let the attack thru, expecting 4-6 damage, but it suddenly escalate into game-ending damage if paired with Temur Battle Rage.
Also I've looked into your build, and I have to ask. Is Soul of New Phyrexia worth it? Yes it's a 6/6 with trample, but it's ability is kinda costly

My deck runs more land and ramp potential, so it's easier to spend the mana.
Chief Engineer helps make use out of the Ornithopters if I don't get any Ensoul Artifacts.

Can always use Soul of New Phyrexia from the graveyard aswell on a turn too essentially boardwipe by making all your creatures indestructible too

True Mintaaayyy. In a grindy matchup, that could clearly happen. But this deck tend to avoid that situation with ton of burn spell and fat creature boosted with Temur Battle Rage for fast end.
But I can activate its ability easier with Renowned Weaponsmith and Generator Servant, and having more fatties wouldn't hurt. Hmm... decisions... decisions...

I saw that you had left a comment on my U/R deck. I like the way you have your set up and build and I may work around it. Thanks for the tips

Yeah, gleeson.token. The early version of this deck run Shrapnel Blast. But I find that the deck isn't aggro enough and trading 2 cards for 5 damage is kinda underwhelming.
But with the addition of Pyromancer's Goggles in Magic Origins, I will most likely use it back, since who doesn't like 10 damage to the face?

If you pair Shrapnel Blast and Scuttling Doom Engine you drop out at least 11 damage. But if you swing before blasting you can push out 17 damage, and if you're Ensoul Artifact your thopter's there is Ten damage, it can be more useful than not, especially if you use Ugin's Nexus for the extra turn. And yes...hell yes Pyromancer's Goggles work beautifully with Shrapnel Blast

Cards like Pia and Kiran Nalaar, Thopter Engineer, and Ghirapur Gearcrafter would work beautifully with Shrapnel Blast. Do you think that's what they were going for with all the thopter producing cards? I found out earlier that Descent of the Dragons would work great with all the new thopter generators. It just makes me more pumped for Origins.

Yeah, those cards are great. I particularly liked the new Pyromancer's Goggles and have been fiddling with them. But I'm not changing the deck until they're released. So it's a 2-week-ish wait for me
July 6, 2015 1:43 a.m.
Yeah Pyromancer's Goggles is one of the better artifacts in the set. I've always wanted an effective Artifact deck, every one I play with fails miserably though. Lol

Maybe replace Ornithopters with Vial of Dragonfire? It's not a turn 1 drop but you can still Ensoul Artifact it and it's more useful and can be summoned with the Renowned Weaponsmith.

Already tried it, Bilabrin. All in all, it's a 4 mana Shock which is pretty bad. Even if you factor in that it's 'fetchable' with Renowned Weaponsmith, I still need to use to cast it. Overall it's a pretty mediocre card outside Limited.
I chose Ornithopter for a possible turn 2 Ensoul Artifact

Thanks for the suggestion, tho
And keep in touch with the deck, since with Origins, this deck now has the potential to go far :)

Do you think that it is possible to play this as a temur deck with Temur Ascendancy for card draw and being able to have haste creatures even with Renowned Weaponsmith?

What an interesting combi, Anerchic_Cat. I guess your fatties are Juggernaut, Scuttling Doom Engine, and Savage Knuckleblade?
Do note that Renowned Weaponsmith only produce mana for artifact, and Origins didn't bring us any usable artifact fatties. Maybe you can count Hangarback Walker, but it's too mana-intensive.
I guess your best bet is just to stick with traditional Temur Ascendancy deck with your classic mana ramp like Elvish Mystic. Don't make me stop you, though. Temur Artifact seem like a very interesting idea.

Also, instead of Wild Slash have you considered Fiery Impulse?
July 14, 2015 11:31 p.m.
magnetcrocodile says... #23
Ah, the Wild Slash/Fiery Impulse debate, whereas Wild Slash can hit player, but Fiery Impulse has the potential to hit a wider range of target. Ultimately I chose Wild Slash for its versatility and since most threat in current meta has 2 toughness(Goblin Rabblemaster, the new PW(except Lili), etc)

Also took down the 'Budget' tag since soe of the part gets quite expensive (Thopter Spy Network and Hangarback Walker)

Question about this build: What's the point of Darksteel Citadel? Is there something about its indestructible that helps the deck?
