Mathas, The Hand That Feeds & The Hand That Takes

Commander / EDH Group Hug RBW (Mardu) Reanimator Tokens

Titanco

Hello everyone, welcome to my iteration on the world of EDH politics!

This deck is built to work as a politics deck, without having to necessarily play a group-hug strategy. The main idea with this deck is to encourage the other players to target each other with the promise of sweet rewards. For this puspose, we use cards such as Infernal Offering , Curse of Chaos , and of course Mathas, Fiend Seeker , the very leader of this strategy!

By using these political incentives and encouraging our opponents to target each other, we are capable of getting repeated value from Overseer of the Damned , Reaper from the Abyss , etc. as well as being able to cast a huge Rise of the Dark Realms or Sepulchral Primordial to finish off the game.

While encouraging people to attack each other is great, I don't think the deck wants to necessarily run a pillow fort strategy either, as it should be able to make opponents not want to attack you in the first place. Therefore cards like Parallax Wave and Temple Bell are here to gain some favor with the table in a worst-case scenario.

Overall I think this deck strategy is sweet, as it is a strategy that could only work in commander while bringing a chaos factor that normal group hug decks lack (not that group-hug decks are bad, everybody loves hugs.), so any suggestions or general advice in how to make the deck better is greatly appreciated.

Have a good day!
