Sideboard

Maybeboard

This deck was built with the politics of Commander in mind, as well as a lot of inspiration from Jumbo Commander's video on you tube "Can You Be Bribed".

This deck most likely won't be the most competitive deck at the table, but hopefully a lot of fun trying to manipulate my opponents into either ignoring me or making the right deals for doing my bidding. The plan is to lay low and not draw any serious attention to myself until someone starts developing a clear lead at the table, at which point I will start offering to help the other players take down the now Archenemy of our group as I continue to build my position. I expect the deals to eventually blow up in my face which is why curses and cards like Comeuppance / Deflecting Palm are in the deck. I avoid playing any infinite combos as it's just not my play style.

The Maybeboard is filled with all the remaining cards I was initially thinking of using to build the deck. To avoid putting a target on my back I decided to take out anything that would slow the game down, cards like Authority of the Consuls, Blind Obedience, and Curse of Vitality.

The Sideboard is filled with cards I'd like to try in the deck once I acquire them.

Before uploading this list to Tapped Out I managed to get a couple of games in with two friends I play fairly regularly with. I feel that this deck will do better with at least three opponents but it still showed a lot of potential. Land Tax on turn two was great but quickly realized that it is meant to be played with having more than seven basic lands in the deck. In the end fishing just those seven basics out was more than enough to build a solid mana base but I'm probably going to swap in a few more basics to be safe. A couple of the sorcery spells like Bite of the Black Rose, and Capital Punishment seemed pretty situational and uneventful but I plan on play testing them a bit more. Also I might need work on my political skills a bit since after casting the first curse Curse of Opulence one of the lightest curses in the deck, seemed to draw a lot more attention than I anticipated. Dawn of Hope was a last minute addition that feels off theme but it preformed really well in drawing me cards and creating chump blockers in a way that didn't draw any real attention to myself.

Any and all help or suggestions are appreciated.
