Sylvan Primordial is now banned in EDH/Commander.

I would suggest a Bloom Tender instead of Birds of Paradise : He gives you a huge boost of mana when Mayael is out.

I like that idea, and a Bloom Tender could really help power out Mayael's ability quicker. The problem is that I don't own one, and they're up to like $10. I'm a poor man, and usually go for budget options. I'll add Bloom Tender to the "future acquisitions" list. Thanks for the suggestion!

You need more ramp so you may play the Blazing Archon . Some suggestions of cards that I use in my Mayael: Cultivate , Windbrisk Raptor , Novablast Wurm , Nature's Lore , Skyshroud Claim and Mwonvuli Acid-Moss .

@ Junqueira - I've never had a problem getting Blazing Archon out. With Elvish Piper , Quicksilver Amulet and a decent amount of ramp I've never had a problem dumping him from my hand. And if he's still in the deck both Mayael and Lurking Predators are great ways to get him in without paying his mana cost. The only reason I'm hesitant to add more ramp is because a lot of the ones you suggested only get forests, but I may reconsider once I pick up some shock-lands.

You're right. I run all the three shocks in my deck. Maybe Explosive Vegetation ?

+1 love the Naya theme. Also, just curious, I don't see any point to having Eldrazi Monument . It's a good card, but you have others like Avacyn, Angel of Hope . You don't really have a token generator, which is what is best when running Eldrazi Monument .

XenaGod is worth it. Trust me... he does work. Actually you should add all of your suggestions and take out some of the less viable creatures. Looks like the deck is getting started off well though.

Very true. I used to have more token generation, but Eldrazi Monument has served its purpose. I'll probably replace it with a Soul of New Phyrexia as soon as I can get one. The more indestructible enablers the better.

Angels, mainly Sigarda, Host of Herons , and Iona, Shield of Emeria if you don't mind making a couple players mad. Also, Privileged Position works amazing on it's own, but is truly magical when combo'd with Greater Auramancy . Hope this helps some!

I do like Sigarda, Host of Herons but Iona, Shield of Emeria is a wee bit too mean for my taste, and she costs a lot (both mana and cash). I like the idea of Privileged Position but I think Greater Auramancy doesn't have the enchantment support to be useful in here. Meybe if I had things like Greater Good or Mana Reflection .

You only have 99 cards in this deck. This site counts the general already and you have it as a creature. If you take Mayael out of the creature area you will have a spot open.

Iroas, God of Victory is brutal. Scourge of the Throne and Hellkite Tyrant might fit. Overwhelming Stampede kicks ass with all those fatties.

Sweet deck. I love looking at other people's Mayael lists!! They're never the same. So exciting.

You're so right about Mayael. Her strategies can be so differing: Frustratingly simple, or deviously complex. It's definitely a deck that flies best when you pace yourself, and try to pick your moments for stomping and/or saving (my choice of "save permanents" card is Faith's Reward). A very rewarding commander to use, win or lose.

My question to you is a bit out of curiosity. How do you find Valorous Stance? I'm thinking about it for my deck: Mayael's Safari Zone and wanted to know how it had performed for you. I like the idea of having the two options was just wondering if you found it useful or if it sometimes sits in your hand doing nothing.
