Have you also ever thought about Life / Death , if you want to go all in, make all you land's creatures, sac enough for lethal with combat and swing. Also this works nicely with sac outlets, to ping the last bit of damage and has other utility as a recursion spell

With several pox effects, as well as fetches, and other ways to sacrifice lands in this build, what are your thoughts on reanimating lands? Would Ramunap Excavator // Crucible of Worlds be worth it to mitigate pox damage or gain added value from cards like Lake of the Dead and cycling Nurturing Peatland ?

I really love the list and appreciate the time you've put into writing this up. There's so many options for mazirek it seems, and I struggle to find what works best without having an incoherent jumble of sacrifice effects.

The Gitrog Monster might would work for Midnight Reaper, increasing your draw off of self-sacrificing lands and giving you a sacrifice trigger every upkeep

Really love this list and been looking at a golgari deck. Is this up to date? Also I've got a sylvan library, demonic Tutor and fiend artisan. What would you take out?

Corz1lla, yes this list is always kept up to date with each set release, it's one of my favorite decks. Also I just added the cards you asked about. I had to shift around some cards between some decks. But I have 26 edh decks with almost no proxies in them (check them out in my profile) so I actually had most of those cards but I was actually waiting to get another copy of each of them. So no more waiting, here's the deck in its best form I can afford currently. Happy gathering ;)

And sorry to any comments or questions I've missed on this page, it's hard to keep up with it sometimes. Thanks for all the upvotes everyone!

I've done a couple different things with Mazirek over time, but one I just started was Bramble Sovereign. Haven't properly tested yet, but I expect it won't be worth the mana or will come down too late too often. Still, thought I'd wing the idea by you.

What a great Build! For your last revision, #76 at this time, I noticed you took out 5 and added 4, what are your plans for the last card?

Apache_tank I have no idea why but the revisions area seems to be inaccurate or mixed up sometimes. The deck had 100 cards after the update, so I'm not sure what to tell you. If you look at the bottom of the "Cards I Tried & Why They Got Cut" section, its usually where the most recent cuts go after they are out of the deck.

Have you thought about including Crystalline Crawler ? It does an incredible amount of work in my build. I’m surprised it isn’t even on Mazirek’s EDHREC page. It turns every sacrifice into a mini ritual or a substantial one with a Grave Pact effect in play. It’s absolutely fantastic at keeping storm like turns going

iammute I had not really considered Crystalline Crawler for this actually. Near the beginning...basically when I first built this deck the "counters matters" cards all got the axe, so I haven't really considered it. I really like generating lots of mana though...the card does great work in another of my decks, so I know how good it is. It's probably a good idea to try it out at least, thanks for the suggestion!

3xist3ntial I haven't tried Bramble Sovereign out yet but it seems like it would be good for sure. Most of the creatures in the deck are cheap enough to afford an extra 2 mana tax on casting them. Thanks!
