MaziWRECKED EDH Sacrifice

Commander / EDH* BG (Golgari)

This is my first EDH deck, and I am not very familiar to the format. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I will describe each card and its role, but for now, please give suggestions for adds and cuts for the deck.

A couple key points:Mazirek, Kraul Death Priest, Puppeteer Clique, and a Viscera Seer infinitely combo for scrying, +1+1 counters, and with Zulaport Cutthroat, it wins you the game on the spot.

How it works: Sac clique to seer, clique comes back from persist, -1-1 counters and +1+1 counters cancel, repeat.Protean Hulk can also search up the seer and clique if it dies. BustedOther than that, just sacrifice as many things as possible, make tons of tokens, grind it out, and win.

Under performers:

1: Zulaport Cutthroat. (Cut is in it's name. It might be telling me to cut him). Lets say 20 things die, (unlikely) and I drain everyone 20. First, they all come after me, and second, I'm still going to have to attack to win. With my commander, the difference between 20 and 40 is not a lot.

  1. Solemn Simulacrum. Good with Birthing Pod, but underwhelming otherwise. I find when I draw him, I would almost always want a token producer/sac outlet instead.

  2. Dark Prophecy. Triple black is pretty difficult, and even when I get it out, it needs death. It is a bit win more, which you never want.

  3. Mitotic Slime I put it in because it didn't get blown out by board wipes, but it's not worth it to sacrifice it unless I have a good sac outlet out. Also, it's a 5-drop, and with Mazirek and multiple other 5-drops being 5 also, the slot is filled.

PLEASE GIVE SUGGESTIONS ON WHAT TO REPLACE!

Top Ten After Testing (In no particular order)

  1. Mycoloth. If I devour tokens with him, i get twice back next turn, and I only keep profiting. It also triggers Mazirek. In addition, with Mazirek, Kraul Death Priest he gets tons of counters, makes tons of dudes only to sac them... more counters... more dudes... opponents scoop...

  2. Skullclamp. With ANY token producer, lets me draw 2 every turn. Its ridiculous. I often draw 8 cards off of it. So valuable.

  3. Awakening Zone. It gives me Mazirek a turn earlier, then the scions can be sacrificed at instant speed for mana and to give my team +1+1 counters. And with Skullclamp...

  4. Birthing Pod. It's a great card in general (haha get it... general... sorry), but it's even better here. My stuff loves dying, so I might sac a Reassembling Skeleton to get a Yavimaya Elder only to get back the skele. Or I can sacrifice Mazirek (in most cases not recommended) to get Gleancrawler and then get mazirek back again.

  5. Gleancrawler. With a sac outlet, I can kill all of my stuff, get tons of sac triggers, and then get my stuff back again. And trample is very helpful as with all the counters I will get, I won't get chumped by their token.

  6. Smallpox. With Mazirek, Kraul Death Priest, it puts 8 counters on all of my guys! And I wont care about the sacrificing as much as everyone else will. With many of the blue decks that only put up one creature like a Consecrated Sphinx, it can be a removal spell that gets around hexproof and indestructible.

  7. Ophiomancer. I was surprized how well this played. I get a snake EACH upkeep if i don't have one. I can sac the snake every endstep with something like Viscera Seer, only to get it back on upkeep. That's 4 times I get to scry every turn. Also, a creature with deathtouch is a pretty helpful deterrent.

  8. Demonic Tutor. Of course it's good, but my deck is very toolboxy (I made up a word XD), so I can get an answer to anything they put out.

  9. Inspiring Call. This deck, although green black, gets pretty Maziwrecked by board wipes. I get counters on all of my guys pretty easily with mazirek, and this can stop their board wipe. I wouldn't be surprised if you drew at least 4 cards while you're at it. Also, this can fill up you're hand at their endstep to give you more gas, if you somehow happen to run out.

  10. Whisperwood Elemental. Useful the first turn it comes out as it manifests on endstep. Also, I mentioned this deck gets killed by wipes, and this is more insurance. With him, I find you seem to be ahead, even after their wipe. Not to mention he DOES provide a sac trigger when you need one.

Thanks for reading. Hope you enjoyed.
