Have you thought of Behold the Beyond it can get more things into your graveyard and you can get he exact cards you want. And on top of that between it and seasons past you will have full control of what you want to do. Behold the beyond will tutor for seasons past and seasons past can return behold the beyond and then get tutored again. It's an awesome cycle. Not sure if it'll work for you but thought it was a nifty idea

Hey Gabe, thanks for commenting :)

I had looked at that card but never thought of that loop! I'm still pretty new to MTG and a lot of times those combos don't occur to me yet. The only thing is if I accidentally mill one or the other that would break the loop. Any ideas for a way around that short of adding a Den Protector? I like the card but it was messing up my curve so I took it out.

This deck, minus a Grim Flayer and +1 Kindly Stranger took Bant Company down to a 0-2 (health points) loss against a vastly superior player at FNM last week.

I'm still learning the finer points of the game ;) Any other cards that you think would be useful would be greatly appreciated

i wish there was blue in here for Contingency Plan because that would solve the problem but I don't see a point splashing blue just for that. You could put in Altar's Reap or Merciless Resolve that at least gives you draw power although it doesn't save you from the self milling it at least allows you a better chance to draw them before they are milled.

That's basically a supercharged Vessel, would ALMOST be worth it lol, but I like the idea!

As for the other two, I had MR in an early draft of the deck, but the way it is now, I'm running a low amount of creatures and lands so that would put a lot of pressure on my retrieval spells. That's also why I didn't put The Gitrog Monster in.

I think I'll pick up a copy of BtB tonight at the store and give it a whirl...just not sure what to pull for it

August 9, 2016 5:07 p.m.

I'm thinkin drop one grapple from the past for one btb

I ended up winning my first game because of the BTB/SP combo! It's about to get main boarded now ;)

August 9, 2016 10:27 p.m.

That's awesome! Happy that worked out for you.

Got some solid feedback tonight and made some big changes, lemme know what you think :)

Elder deep fiend is a great touch, it's a shame that you can't emerge it but I do like the mana ramp between from beyond and cryptolithe rite. Each scion will give you two mana. Makes some of those big spells nice and easy to cast which is awesome. With the new mana base I would probably drop one land to get one more behold the beyond into your deck.

Good call on the land base, I was thinking the same thing, that's next on the chopping block. Maybe add another From Beyond? Don't want too many high cost cards in my starting hand that I cant play

I actually will be able to emerge the Deep Fiend since Cryptolith lets you add mana of any colour :)

August 9, 2016 11:12 p.m.

True I would definatey do that. And that's awesome with cryptolithe rite I forgot it was any color. And maybe because of that you might want t consider side birding Contingency Plan it can guarantee delirium (for the most part) and be helpful setting up your deck to crush your opponent

Ohhhhhhhhhhhh yes!!!! Great point!

Lol back to the drawing board.

I took out another deathcap cultivator, I guess with CR they become kinda redundant, wouldn't be surprised if the other one went away too lol. Put back in Ever After, with all the big things on the board now and the extra Iskhanah, dumping her and another creature back into play can be lethal, immediate ramp with her tokens and ya...I think I just stripped away the excess and might've unlocked something here. Thanks for all of your suggestions Gabe! If you have any more I'm all ears

Another great thing is you can emerge out of the tokens ;)

August 9, 2016 11:48 p.m.

Emerging with tokens doesn't help too much because their converted mana cost is 0. But either way you're sacking themfor mana. And I would probably switch that cultivator for one more flayer

I thought about that, and then I had an idea, maybe I could add in an Odric, Lunarch Marshal ?

August 10, 2016 8:03 a.m.

Maybe sideboard. I wouldn't run that main deck yet. I'm not sure how many times you've been able to play this deck but what I would do is play with deck as is for now, see how your board state tends to fall and after getting comfortable with your deck pay attention to how many times you get the abilities out. And right now you have trample and a little flying and a little deathtouch. So you have to see how many times you could spread the abilities and if it'd be worth it to actually run. I mean odric + decimator + Mindwrack demon + a couple scions and one or two creatures would be worth it.

Good point, I'll run the deck minus Odric and see how it runs. But he could be an awesome tutor later in the game to spread around deathtouch, flying, trample, haste (Decimator), and reach.

One last change, with all the ramp, token spawning, and land tutoring available, I figured Westvale Abbey would fit nicely :)

August 10, 2016 10:47 a.m.

That's a nice touch. And I just realized with all the creature sacking in the deck a Zulaport Cutthroat wuld be a nice touch although not needed

August 10, 2016 11:13 a.m.

smooverr says... #23

I like that too! I have one, so I could try it in the sideboard, but that's an awesome idea!

I added a Vexing Scuttler to the sideboard in case the Season's Past/BtB combo gets broken

August 10, 2016 3:52 p.m.

That's a great idea. Good job knowing your deck and finding a card that really helps it
