Thopters and Servos. Thopters and Servos everywhere.

So, yeah. This deck is focused around making lots of thopter and servo tokens, by combos, for combos. Or, you know, so I can just swarm you with my mechanical army. That works too. There really isn't one combo this deck is built around, so much as it's built so that everything combos with as many cards as possible. This makes it quite versatile and often makes for uniquely entertaining games.

Do note that this is restricted by my Magic Duels collection, so it's not exactly optimal.

Creatures:

  • 2x Aetherstorm Roc - It's a big, flying creature that gives you energy whenever you get a creature. Oh, and it can grow and control your opponent's blockers. Definitely worth the somewhat restrictive mana cost.
  • 1x Angel of Invention - This thing is worth considering in just about any white deck, and in this one it's just absurdly synergistic.
  • 1x Chief of the Foundry - No color restrictions, allows artifact combos, and makes my hordes twice as powerful. Sure!
  • 1x Gearseeker Serpent - It may be common, but it's a 5/6 whose cost can be reduced to 2, and can make anything unblockable. I can work with that.
  • 2x Master Trinketeer - Activates artificer combos, boosts the army, and can give you a servo if you have four mana to spare.
  • 1x Pia Nalaar - Not my favorite, but she is an artificer, comes with a thopter, and her abilities can be useful. I'd just rather have her and her husband or even thopter engineer.
  • 1x Pilgrim's Eye - it's colorless, lets you find that one color you don't have enough of, and it's a thopter.
  • 4x Reckless Fireweaver - this is quite possibly one of the best cards in the Kaladesh expansion. Free triggered direct damage whenever you get an artifact? Damage that can hit plainswalkers? From a common 1/3 for 2 in red? (2/5 if you have inventor's goggles)
  • 2x Visionary Augmenter - it's a discount version of Angel of Invention with bonus artificer tribal. Ok.
  • 2x Whirler Rogue - Artificer, comes with 2 thopters, and can make multiple things unblockable? The only reason I didn't include 3 copies is because I only have 2.
  • 3x Whirler Virtuoso - converts energy into thopters at instant speed and without needing to tap. Most versatile combo piece in the deck.

Other permanents:

  • 3x Era of Innovation - works best with Whirler Virtuoso, since they feed off each other, but that's hardly the only way to use the energy this thing can stockpile.
  • 1x Inventor's Goggles - cheap tribal equipment that makes my combo pieces tougher
  • 1x Chandra, Torch of Defiance - more cards to play, burn, or extra mana, and that's just her +1 abilities? Yes, please.
  • 1x Saheeli Rai - Her +1 is useful, but it's her -2 that makes her a must. Every (non-legendary) creature card in this deck is at least a decent target, especially as you get to keep any tokens the copy makes.

Instants:

  • 1x Artificer's Epiphany - cheap, and discarding is almost never necessary.
  • 1x Borrowed Grace - it's a horde deck. Instant mass buffs are quite nice.
  • 2x Essence Flux - works both as a cheap counter to targeted removal, or a means of duplicating enter the battlefield effects.
  • 3x Harnessed Lightning - usually, if you're dealing 3 or less damage with this, it's because that's all you needed.
  • 1x Welding Sparks - scales well: if you need to deal 7 damage to a creature, odds are you have enough artifacts to do so.

Sorceries:

  • 1x Saheeli's Artistry - it can give you up to 2 clones that are now artifacts, and as such combo with most of your deck.
  • 1x Shrewd Negotiation - Ooo, that's a really nice game changing creature/artifact you've got there. Trade you a Servo for it! (or, even better, a vanishing artifact from Saheeli Rai's -2)
  • 2x Solemn Offering - gets rid of those permanents burn & creatures can't, plus extra life.
  • 1x Start Your Engines - because I only have one copy of Borrowed Grace

Lands: My personal rule of thumb for lands is to have 21 of them, basically slightly over a third of my deck. Since I get too many lands about as often as I get too few, this seems to be working out for me.

  • 4x Island, 3x Mountain, 4x Plains - Basic lands. They're, well, basic.
  • 2x Clifftop Retreat, 2x Glacial Fortress, 2x Sulfur Falls - these provide flexibility of color and usually won't come into play tapped.
  • 3x Aether Hub - color when you need it, more thopters, damage, or cards when you don't.
  • 1x Inventors' Fair - it usually won't take long to get 3 artifacts, and the incremental life gain can buy you time. Or, occasionally, you can actually sacrifice it to search for an artifact (read: Chief of the Foundry)
