Megamorphing Power Rangers GWUB

Standard GWUB

Curchanus

Sideboard

Imagine a world where you didn't need sorceries or instants, where your creatures themselves removed obstacles, countered spells, granted you life, drew cards, reanimated the dead, and filtered land out of your library while constant pressure on your opponent leads tol their inevitable end.

This is GWUB Power Rangers, a 4-color Standard prototype deck which seeks to annihilate your opponent's board state. It has 28 creatures, 8 enchantments and nothing else, because it doesn't need anything else.

Imagine a world where you didn't need sorceries or instants, where your creatures themselves removed obstacles, countered spells, granted you life, drew cards, reanimated the dead, and filtered land out of your library while constant pressure on your opponent leads tol their inevitable end.

This is GWUB* Power Rangers, a 4-color Standard prototype deck which seeks to annihilate your opponent's board state. It has 28 creatures, 8 enchantments and nothing else, because it doesn't need anything else. See if you can follow this logic from the viewpoint of card advantage. If I morph in a creature with Trail of Mystery on the field, the creature replaces itself with a land, meaning I am at 0 Cards Spent effectively. Now if that card is a Stratus Dancer, Hidden Dragon Slayer, Icefeather Aven, or a Silumgar Assassin, if it lives to be morphed upwards, I or negate a card cast by an opponent (+1 card) and can swing in with a 3-5/3-4 creature maybe killing another creature (+1 card maybe). If Secret Plans is in play, I draw a card.

In this way, the majority of the cards in this deck (literally 16 of them) exists at +2-+4 card advantage against my opponent. With Trail of Mystery on the field, I can never be mana-screwed or mana starved, plus I filter lands from my library every turn. Even without Trail of Mystery, I can deal steady, constant damage while annihilating my opponent's plays - 16 cards are not only removal, but they are creatures!!!.

After thorough testing, I do believe this mana base works perfectly fine. With 4 trail of mystery and 4 evolving wilds I can grab all 4 colors, and only 2 cards require more than one of any mana type. Even in some alien situation where I do not acquire a single one of those cards, I can still cast the black, white green or blue morphers down as 2/2 creatures.

*I wish red had playable megamorphers.....
