Orzhov Pontiff is a really great card... normaly you use it to pump your creatures... but you can also destroi like decks that play tokens or aggro... i have a melira pod deck that plays with it Melira-Pod (G/W/B)

Wondering how much work Bond Beetle puts in, maybe try out Orzhov Pontiff instead.

Bond Beetle is the latest addition and im still testing him out. On his own he is not a very good card, but he opens up for some fun shenanigans. Pod Kitchen Finks into Ranger of Eos to fetch Viscera Seer and Bond Beetle . Play Bond Beetle to reset kitchen finks and play the Viscera Seer . You combo if you have melira or archangel out, otherwise you could either pod Bond Beetle into Melira, Sylvok Outcast or Ranger of Eos into Archangel of Thune to combo next turn. On its own, Bond Beetle resets Kitchen Finks and Murderous Redcap for one mana, which is ok.

I assume Loxodon Hierarch comes in from the sideboard against Anger of the Gods decks? Is it an auto-sub in after game 1 if they're playing Blue Moon / something similar?

Loxodon Hierarch comes in if i play against anything that could play boardwipes. A boardwipe is really hard to recover from. But even after a boardwipe, if i have Birthing Pod i could play Kitchen Finks , pod to Ranger of Eos and have all combo pieces by the next turn. Thats why i love Bond Beetle , i think it should be a thing in melira pod :)

Bond Beetle does not reset your persist creatures. A +1/+1 counters is different from a -1/-1 counter. The stats will be reset, but the creature will be sitting with a +1/+1 and a -1/-1 counter on it. The -1/-1 counter does not get removed because you put a +1/+1 counter on it.

actually a +1/+1 counter being placed on a creature with a -1/-1 counter removes the -1/-1 counter instead.
420.5n If a permanent has both a +1/+1 counter and a -1/-1 counter on it, N +1/+1 and N -1/-1counters are removed from it, where N is the smaller of the number of +1/+1 and -1/-1 counterson it.

I told you a few weeks ago that I was going to look at your deck, than accidently forgot about it. Sorry about that!! You've got a few unusual picks that I don't think I've ever seen in a Pod deck before, but I like unusual. Just the fact that Pod is such a well known strategy is the only reason I haven't turned my Melira deck into Pod. I've noticed a lot of people using Orzhov Pontiff in their Pod builds. It doesn't seem like that great of a card to me, but I'm probably missing something. Do you know why?
