To be fair, so am I. I'm new to modern so I'm not sure what works best. But thank you. I'll make revisions based on that one, since it looks more updated than the one I linked.

Melira pod has won the past 2 major tournaments and doesn't look to be going anywhere. I ran both this version and Kiki version on mtgo for a while used to own Kiki pod irl and I can assure u both are fair decks can win without going off but are much better decks with the combo aspect. In all I love to hate it and ur matchup against other combo decks is horrible FYI. And a third of he meta is combo

Well, I thought about that before I decided on a deck, and I realized it's a powerhouse and my initial monetary sink won't be going anywhere for a long while, and certainly not down by much.
And I would only assume that's what Thoughtseize , Linvala, Keeper of Silence , and Harmonic Sliver are for. Either destroy the pieces or stop the combo from going off, right?
Any ways I can cut the budget down just a bit more than I already have? Mainly need a replacement for Voice until it goes down or I get my hands on some.

@truble Read the description, please.
And thank you bman, I'm not sure if I want to go to a full playset for Hierarch but Ill definitely go back to my 4x Viscera Seer . If I open any Voice's, well, that's a different story.

Yea voices are the tits in modern voices best friend is Wilt-Leaf Liege

Oh damn, I never thought of that. That's awesome.
The problem is, I can switch out Thoughtseize for Inquisition, lower the price by $200 and still almost do the same exact thing, but Voice is too unique, I can't find a successful replacement for it. Blah.

Yea I hear you. Well one thing I've always said about external formats and I will say again is dont budget. In order to be competitive and keep up with the meta and the jones's you can't budget a tier 1 deck and expect to win efficiently.

Well, I'm not looking to play competitively yet. I want to get a feel for the format, and play against my friends. But if I do get into the Competitive Scene, I know this deck will still run optimally and destroy if I get the cards.
The budget is only for the initial sink. High-demand cards that I can't afford to buy with cash will be acquired over time through trades and eventually put in here. That's the general idea.

From what little I do know about modern, I'd say this looks great! +1 What about a 3-drop or 4-drop sac engine? If you get a persist creature and Melira, sac-ing the persist creature to a sac engine that will deal infinite damage or gain infinite life! Would you care for me to look for some creatures that would be good for this?

I had Blasting Station in here but it turned out to be a bit slow. Thanks!

In fact, I put it in there as an alternate win condition. And if you want to check for some creatures, go for it lol
August 1, 2013 12:32 a.m.
You need 23 lands to run efficiently for this deck. Cutting the blasting stains would be your best bet for that,

Cobthecobbler says... #19
I'd still like them in here as an alternate win-con though. It's a fun infinite combo that's easy to pull off in this deck.
Is there anything else I can cut for 2 more lands?
August 1, 2013 12:44 a.m.
MagicalHacker says... #20
Right, but you can't get it with Birthing Pod , can you? xD
4-drops: Dimir House Guard , Flesh-Eater Imp , Nim Shambler .
5-drops: Fallen Angel , Maw of the Obzedat , Phyrexian Plaguelord .
August 1, 2013 12:46 a.m.
You could get away with just two seer. But my recommendation still stands as removing the Blasting Station . Being cute in modern will result in a loss way more then you like. I know it combos well but that's one turn you have to spend casting station when you could be value podding and winning next turn. Instead you have to exhaust a turn casting Blasting Station and potentially setting u back a turn or 2 before you do anything.

Cobthecobbler says... #22
Well, no, but if it shows up, it's game. Alternative meaning I won't be looking for it.
I like those sac outlets. Maybe Flesh-Eater Imp and Maw of the Obzedat . Good options. Not sure if they'd make it in but what should I cut?

Cobthecobbler says... #23
I thiiiiiiiink you have a problem with this card.
I'm just kidding, haha, I hear what you're saying. I'll cut them out for two more land.
August 1, 2013 12:53 a.m.
U should take out nothing for those. You are an aggro deck that has a combo or 2 n it. Play it as such and you will be successful. U only want Reveillark as you 5 drop

I would take out the Viscera Seer s, I see no tokens you can sac to tutor for it. Take out the Blasting Station s as well, they can't be tutored for at all. Put in another copy of Melira, Sylvok Outcast , one Flesh-Eater Imp , one Maw of the Obzedat , and two lands. That should do it.

Ok first of all horrible list to go off of the guy is inexperienced with melira pod. Second try the Grand Prix winning list can't go wrong
http://mtgtop8.com/event?e=5250&d=230268
And second Blasting Station is to slow right now trust me. With this deck you want to go off quick and often
