Hi maiden, I just had a look at your deck and it's for sure an interesting twist on the Windfall theme with Geth's Grimoire, Megrim and the others letting you profit every time. +1 for that idea alone!
One thing I noticed about your manabase is that you don't play the Ravnica bounce lands such as Dimir Aqueduct and no utility lands that only produce colorless mana (Kher Keep, Reliquary Tower, ...)- could you share your thoughts on that?

A Negate can be one of those cards that can stop someones Suffer the Past or Ravenous Trap

And maybe more flicker effects. Maybe a Deadeye Navigator

Hey Mate, you're definitely right with the Navigator - that's why he's been in there since it's release month ago ;)I'll have to think about the addition of conterspells though. With seven Windfall esque effects I can't hold onto them for long but it would sure be nice to have some backup for sure...

+1 for getting around Unearths drawback! id say a Snapcaster Mage or Dralnu, Lich Lord can really beef up your graveyard play.

Thanks man, I've tried flashback enablers in previous versions and found that Mystic Retrieval suited best but ultimately - to me - still wasn't worth the effort.

I like it! For a similar playstyle, check out my IRL deck you-could-but-you-wont.

For ramp, and since predominantly your deck is black I suggest Crypt Ghast. Urbog makes all lands swamps then you just tap away! Also Filth is just so nice in your graveyard with urbog. Mmmm swampwalk

One card I really like that makes a decent reanimate target it Charmbreaker Devils. Great concept.

ah yes. those lovely devils. one card i held onto when i thought about building a sedris deck was Secrets of the Dead, 3 cost draw enchantment that makes any reanimater deck soiled with happiness. and i would suggest replacing Fellwar Stone for Darksteel Ingot.

I have a deck ( The Book Burner ) that's somewhat similar. Love decks like this. I definitely need to give Anathemancer a spin.

Thanks for the massive input and + 1s everyone!
Rofelos, the devils had been in here quite a long time and I agree, they're really decent. Given the Gatecrash primordials they just didn't fit in for me right now.
ninnyz, as far as I understand Secrets of the Dead won't trigger when I activate Sedris, since it reads "whenever you play" other than say, River Kelpie for example. I'll think about switching to Darksteel Ingot though.

how about Geth, Lord of the Vault? seems like he'd fit right in.

I love how well you utilize the etb effects. I honestly never thought of adding Sundial to my build til I saw this. (And Mellon Collie is my favorite SP album so I was pumped to check out this list as soon as I saw the name)

I actually think that Tibalt, the Fiend-Blooded would actually work well in this deck considering everything has unearth.
April 19, 2013 1:13 a.m.
Hehe, so I thought and tried him in an earlier version. In the end people would just toss a random burn spell or assign a few points of damage on him before he could add up to his ultimate (or even activate three times), so I replaced him with Compulsive Research to draw my three cards at least...
Glad to see other people having the similar ideas though, thanks for the input! ;)

Deadeye Navigator + unearth ability = the creature gets exiled. Unearth exiles the creature any time it leaves play, which makes Deado not nearly as good in this as he should be. I'd make the case to cut him entirely. And Sundial, too. God does that card not make you friends unless you're playing Zirilan of the Claw or some other really awesome tech.
This thing looks a little bit all over the place: you have some board control, you have some combo, you have some dudes that do things. This is the problem with Grixis in EDH. It's very difficult to get it pared down to something that sings... unless you're playing Sedris. Sedris is just asking for creatures that offer value in both the main phase and combat and doesn't really care about counterspells. I get that you want to play them because you're in blue, but I think your choice of general provides you with a far wider range of fun, interactive things to do instead of sitting on cards in your hand, being reactive. Sedris is a build that very much has the gas to get the job done on its own.

Also, the answer we were looking for as a deck name was "Sedris the Entertainer."

+1 from me, great deck and I always enjoy EDH decks that uses cards with Paul Bonner's art, god I'm such a fangirl.

@wlkrtxsrngr thanks for the detailed input and constructive critique. I'm not so sure about if you're perfectly right with the interaction between blinking and Unearth* but I'd second what you wrote about Grixis in EDH to a full 100%.
Having said this, I'll reveal to you that Sedris is more like a backup plan than a main win condition in this deck. Basically I can only add to what spazmatron42000 already pointed out: He's a fun guy with a battle axe made of bone painted by Paul Bonner. Plus, he enables a few neat interactions. I mean, what else can you ask for?
I'd be interested if you could put up a link to a more Sedris focused build though, sounds fun as well.
*[Rules part]: As far as I understand it, Unearth is a replacement effect for dudes leaving the battlefield, putting them into exile instead. But since Deadeye Navigator sends them just there in the first place, they should come back without any problems.
