Comments and suggestions are most welcome. I don't see the point in joining a community like this one if I don't take some professional quality criticism!

I am also willing to help others build their version of this deck, if needed. Please let me know what you're working with, and I'll be happy to make suggestions.

This looks like a really fun deck. I like the political aspect of it. I would enjoy playing it, and playing against it (but not too much, because it looks mean.)

Since sacrifice and boardwipe are all in abundance here, what do you think of adding some more stuff to snatch your opponents' creatures, like Rise of the Dark Realms, Beacon of Unrest, Reanimate, or It That Betrays? Since you are avoiding making Mogis a creature, it seems like these could be good ways of getting some creature presence without gaining much devotion.

Also, I know you aren't going for too much combo, but Stuffy Doll with Pariah's Shield is a great political move. And in the event that you do make Mogis a creature, you've got an indestructible creature to stick the shield on.

Just a few thoughts. I know they deviate a little bit from the philosophy behind the deck. I still love it the way it is!

Sorcery spells will take some serious consideration (and I will give thought to yours). I suppose that reanimating effects would be nice as long as they didn't give devotion to Mogis. Pariah's Shield is almost a no-brainer and will definitely go in on the next version. THANKS!

No problem! This is a great build and I appreciate the time and attention you've given to explaining the deck strategy and your reasons for including, and excluding, what you have.

I'm tweaking an Avacyn, Angel of Hope deck at the moment, and I need strong advice. I think I'm getting pretty close, but I'd appreciate it if you could take a look at it when you have a moment:

Oh--and one other thing. If your meta is counter-heavy, I'd definitely consider picking up a Boseiju, Who Shelters All to protect all of your key sorceries and instants here.

Boseiju, Who Shelters All is already in my shopping cart in another tab. Thanks again! I'll stop by and comment on your deck very soon.

Polluted Bonds can be pretty nuts in multiplayer, and why Whipflare over Pyroclasm? I also feel like Crown of Doom will end up just hurting you, as group slug players appropriately get targeted. Lastly, why no Defiler of Souls?

Thanks Zerowner!

Polluted Bonds is already being shipped to me as we speak, just thinking about what to take out for it.

You're right about Pyroclasm. I don't have that card, so I'll put it on my wish list.

Oddly, I haven't had a problem with Crown of Doom. I think people tend to forget who the owner is as it gets passed around. That being said, I will probably replace it when I finally get a Mindcrank.

Defiler of Souls is really heavy on the devotion for my commander. If there's an enchantment version of it though, I'd like to know about it.

I notice that you have a Pariah's Shield tucked away in your maybe board. You definitely want that in there. So long as Mogis is a creature, you basically cannot die. You can't take commander damage either. Well worth the investment.

Would recommend a Necropotence, Temporal Extortion (The 4 black isn't that hard), Havoc Festival, Manabarbs, Citadel of Pain, Burning Earth, Lim-Dul's Hex, Rain of Gore, Spellshock, Underworld Dreams (Comment: Underworld dreams dot not need anything else to accompany it, it's plenty powerful alone), Death Cloud, Ward of Bones, Thought Prison, Curse of Wizardry, Liability, Shivan Gorge, Hissing Miasma, Blood Reckoning, Repay in Kind, Leechridden Swamp

Just throwing out some ideas.

Love this deck. I did something similar myself with Mogis as my general as well. It ended up being alot of fun.

@Chinrich - It's a good balance between competitive and fun. I'll try to provide an update at the end of the week after FNM and our Saturday tournament.

Ah yes... You couldn't build a black pillow fort without No Mercy. A great suggestion that I'll add to the list. Thanks Venok!

Evoksva, your knowledge of black cards is impressive. I'm about to wipe the comments, but I'll make sure you get credit for recommendations.

The deck's shaping up very nicely. I agree that it might not have enough fluffed pillows to go entirely creatureless, but there's nothing to prevent you from also including Purphoros, God of the Forge along with Erebos, God of the Dead which unofficially double as a form of Guttersnipe and Greed respectfully. There probably isn't enough devotion to use either consistantly though, even if the abilities are nice.

Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle, That Which Was Taken, Shell of the Last Kappa and Wild Ricochet come to mind. Just stuff to play around with (food for thought).

Thank you!

I had Purphoros, God of the Forge and Erebos, God of the Dead, but it got crowded with my commander on the table. So, rather than worry about devotion and keeping them indestructible, I just replaced them. It's killing me to not play something like this:

Norin the Wary + Purphoros, God of the Forge

I'll go ahead and add Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle, but the others are going to have to wait. I need to play the deck some more before making further changes. I'm pretty good at board politics, so hopefully my wit and charm will continue to be my best defense =D

Thanks for the advice!

+1. U might have a tough matchup against combo at some times tho (especially controling combo decks).
